I agree, but I doubt we see much of it, I like his ad lib runs, but mostly he try to throw it.
Detroit game he did take off a few times.

It is a good weapon, and frustrates defenses/
I thought that he didn't slide enough in that game, some of those hits he took seemed unnecessary, he might have to risk those hits on Sunday though - win at all cost.

Do u think we went away from our successful formula in 2007 mainly because of TO's ankle injury? Or were there other factors involved?

I don't know. T.O. played so I don't know how much impact that would have had since he was on the field and open on some of the plays I saw.

Fastest way to get your QB injured.

We have at most three games left, can't be scared. Add to the fact we have a great backup we need to throw the kitchen sink

Well, it didn't seem to have worked out too well for Cam, now did it? We keep doing what we're doing, & let them try and stop us. Run the ball with Zeke, with an occasional P/A pass deep. Spread the ball to different receivers to keep them off balance. One thing I would like to see changed is to put Dez in motion more, to negate some of the double teams. We must get Dez, Williams, & Butler loose deep in their secondary, or they will keep eight in the box all day. It will also serve to free up Bease & Wit for the underneath routes.

NO! Dak has his whole career in front of him. We don't need to put him at any more risk than we have to. It would be different if he couldn't pass worth a nickle, but he's a great throwing QB. Why in the world would you want to compromise him for one year's worth of football? He'll run when he sees the opportunity, & that's plenty enough for me.

Denver's defense was undeniable in the playoffs last year.

My guess is that the Packers will put 8 in the box and blitz a lot to take away EE and then bracket Dez. I would really like to see them attack with Beasley and EE in the passing game because I don't think they can bracket Dez and cover Beasley or EE in the passing game.

yeah he needs to slide, I think one time he didnt he was trying for a first down.
But he needs to be smart and avoid the hits somehow.

I actually think zone read will be used more often this game than it has all season. Kinda how the 49ers and Kap destroyed the Packers in the playoffs a few years ago. Kap went off. Take advantage of Matthews and Peppers aggressive style. I don't want to see the Cowboys use it as much as the 49ers did in that game but I think a bit of an uptick would help out.
Gotta get GB to keep a safety in the box so Dez and Beasley can take advantage of the Packers weak CBs

apparently Sharp believes strongly that Dom is going in to sell out to stop the run and make Dak beat them. Stack men in the box all day errday! He will pick that poison. The Dez poison.

Rey Lewis thinks this is a big mistake.

My train of thought tells me that if Dom is going to do this they they believe they will be able to take away the TOP ground and pound strategy. He thinks this will speed the game up and have ARod on field more.

I don't think you can stop Zeke. Not them. Not many. No one left in the playoffs can. But this is the poison that Dom is going to have to go for. This is the gamble. And for some reason you do. Cowboys are up 3TDs as quick as instant rice.

Dom has his hands full.

What happened is T.O got a high ankle sprain in the Carolina game in week 16 and I think the Cowboys were trying to hide him some in that first half hoping to control the clock and maybe get a two score lead by halftime. It almost worked. Anthony Henry's missed tackle on the Giants first drive and Jaques Reeves poor play on the 53 second TD drive right before the half doomed the strategy.

Now we were in a tie game with a worn out Marion Barber and a hobbled T.O. We needed someone else to step up and it should have been Patrick Crayton, but he had his worst game as a Cowboy that day.

I really can't blame the strategy because of T.O.'s ankle injury, but some fluke plays cost us that game and that is what has me so worried about this game. Our last two playoff losses have been kind of fluky.

treat Dak like Cam Newton last year in the playoffs; let him run baby run, Carolina lost the SB bc they got away from running with Cam. It's the ultimate weapon and is a numbers mismatch for the defense. Thoughts?

I tend to agree but you have to take what the D gives you. BELIEVE me they'll stack the box on Zeke and there will be plays to be had in the passing game due to one on one matchups. Dez, Beaz, TWil and JWit will be open all over the field. I do think that Dak will have lanes to run in though. I'd LOVE for the first offensive play to be a naked bootleg. They'll be so keyed up to stop Zeke he'll zip around end for a huge gainer if not a TD. Don't get me wrong, I want to pound Zeke too, but when they stack the box 8-9 strong LInehan will have to do some things to get them out of it. Pack will try to emulate the Gnats defensive game plan in their two wins. However, they don't have the personnel to pull it off IMO
