Seemingly everyone has the top 3 WRs Williams, Davis and Ross in some order but then it's all over the map after that.

Who do you believe is the 4th best WR prospect in this draft class? If you're running a team and intending to take a WR with your next pick and those first 3 are off the board who are you taking?

Chris Godwin out of Penn State. I might actually like him better than Williams.

Godwin or Jones for sure. I'd take either in a heartbeat

I have it this way:

Carlos Henderson - Return abilities and RAC puts him over the others
Zay Jones - Very polished and could be productive right out of the box. Better than Tyler Boyd last year.
Chris Godwin - Underrated a bit.
Juju Smith-Schuster - Silly nickname and hyphenated last name. Instant downgrade for me.
Amara Darboh - Might end up being a sneaky rookie starter.

Then I have a bunch after that in no real order like Taywan Taylor, Chad Hanson, Connor Kupp, ArDaris Stewart and Sheldon Gibson.

there isn't a bunch of true number one wide receivers...but there sure are a lot of good role players. 10 years from now this draft class could be epic...for the number of guys that are still in the league

Zay Jones will be my pick even with John Ross still on the board

Zay Jones and Ardarius Stewart have some of the best hands going into this draft, both kids will be a baller come Sundays

I don't care. Defense all draft long. If they want to take a Robert Davis, Georgia State, 6-3, 4.45/ 40" vert, or Mack Hollins, NC, 6-4, 220, 4.53 with the 246th pick, that's fine with me. Our offense is good enough. It's our defense that has let us down in the playoffs. Build a top 10 "D", then I'll talk about the 4th best WR in some future draft.

Dede Westbrook. I know he isn't quite as fast as John Ross or Curtis Samuel, but IMO, I think he's the best deep threat in the draft.

I have no idea where he'll get drafted, what with his arrest record and all.

See what I mean? We all follow this stuff and there's no consensus. One person's 4th overall could be 10th on the next guy's list.

How often is there a consensus beyond the first couple of players unless the positional class itself is pretty weak?

That is how I can usually tell that a position group has good enough depth for a draft. Once you get past the first two or three, you have a bunch of opinions none of which people are overly excited about. Then it becomes nit picking some trait and ascribing fit.

Better question is who is the 4th best pass rusher or corner because they will probably be in Oxnard in August.
