Lol this Guy is freaking huge. . He's definitely a mismatch I'm thinking he might be our number 2 this year fellas. I'm glad we have an extra preseason game

If he can hold up blocking and be dependable, like a Swaim, you can easily scheme him 20-25 receptions over a 16 game season. Mostly play-action and dumpoffs. You wont see him running option routes a la Witten, at least not yet. But we'll see. Hopefully he has a great offseason and training camp.
I realize he's incredibly agile for his frame, but he's not agile enough to run the full Y playbook. I wouldn't expect him to ever be the team's top TE. And that's ok.

Looks kinda like Tyron Smith with more agility.

We need a side by side of him and Smith, beast next to beast.

I really hope he can block inline/inspace/out of the H. If I see one pancake in preaseason I'll be stoked.

I can see the wisdom of having him practice OT on the practice squad last year. I can't imagine him ever being the receiver that Witten is, but I could see him be an awesome in-line blocker that is just athletic enough to be a legit receiving threat that will cause massive fits at the goal line.

When Witt finally hangs them up I can see Rico be the Batman to a smaller, quicker receiving type H-back Robin in our TE rotation.

Best case scenario, he's like Bennett here early in his career. A plus blocker and a guy who may catch 25-30 balls on simple routes.

I look forward to seeing him this pre season. Based on what I have read the guy has been working hard on proving himself and I don't think his basketball skills will hurt him one bit. Guy has very quick reaction, big hands and is use to working in tight space with a lot of body contact and going up and getting the ball.

Looks like he has really soft hands and is catching the ball well.
Looks SLOW and nonathletic to me... and that's surprising because most videos I saw of him it was the opposite. He looks much bigger now also.

It's probably just his length and the fact that no one is around him.

He looks like a defensive end, are we sure he can't rush the passer?
yes lets waste 2-3 years of development to see that he is average at best DE but most like a JAG. TE is probably the easiest position besides the route tree and route running.

He has really good hands and the 1st over-the-head catch is interesting.
Some of the route cuts look kind of slow but the man does weigh 280-290?

Dude, you're never going to find a route cut slower than Witten's and he's a Hall of Famer. Least of my concern

LOL Witten might be able to take him in the 40!

Rooting for Rico to be a difference maker but he needs to make the roster and do something in a real game to prove he can play before I give a rip about practice videos.
