I could be wrong, but in the very few vids I've seen of him he sure looks to be more agile then Whitt!

I'm not sure he needs to create any separation if he's really 6-6/290. He's open when he wakes up and gets out of bed.

I agree with others, the hands look like a natural gift that not every player has. There's really no excuse if he can't block. He could be such a matchup problem for every defensive coordinator. I worry about players going for his knees like with LaFleur though.

Excited to see him and Jaylon.

Jaylon and Rico are the 2 players i regularly google.

The most interesting matchups for me:

1. put him wide on one side by himself. do you use a LB or a S? even if the LB has similar speed, he may not be that good in coverage...you certainly cannot play press with a S or he can be on his butt real fast. god help the S if a run goes that way.
2. inline, do you use a LB or what do you do? he may outweigh the LB by 50lbs.

Saw him on a flight to New Orleans a couple of weeks ago. Good Lord that is one Big dude. He was very well spoken and accommodating to the few fans that noticed him. His 2 kids were very well behaved as well. Hope he can be a contributor this year

Yeah, I think this is what former TE coach Pope was talking about as far as the NFL just isn't ready for someone like him.

Besides size and athleticism rushing the qb is a mentality. When I played Varsity ball my coaches had me 3rd on the depth chart behind two guys that looked the part but ultimately were soft and lacked a "killer instinct". They were faster than me and bigger but never could get off blocks.

i agree, i coached a kid in 2006 that was 5"4", 170 lbs. he ended the year with 21 sacks and was named area MVP and AP All State, here in Texas. Quick and nasty.

Rico does look fairly slow in those clips but his 40 time (what I found anyways) was 4.75 which isn't exactly terrible for a TE. I did a quick check on 40 times for some of the top TEs and he is on the slower end but not too far off. I'm not saying he is going to become one of the better TEs out there but his speed shouldn't limit him that much.
