Jaylon Smith: A Dark Prediction?

Durant already lost his job last year and Dallas have plenty of linebackers on the roster......Jerry see's a silver lining in everything...have you not listened to him at all! How many time does Jerry declare a player needs a week and should be back from injury and come to find out that the player need season ending surgery...the last person you or anyone else should listen too when it comes to players injuries, it's JERRY!!!
No, but I listen to Stephen and Will McClay

I don't even know why I click on the Jaylon threads anymore.

We'll know the truth soon enough.

I don't think I've seen a Cowboys player talked about quite this much on this board, ever. Especially one that has yet to take a snap as a Cowboy.

4th round quarterbacks do not come into the NFL and post 13 wins their rookie year. Dak did.

There was no running back who ever won the season rushing title and went on the win the Super Bowl. Emmitt did. Three times.

There is a phrase that comes to mind, and I can hear Jaylon Smith saying this.

"Here, hold my beer. I'll show them."

I think I will wait until the proof one way or another before writing this kid off.

I understand and agree. My comments are more toward those criticizing him as if he is not qualified to offer an opinion. He has the credentials. My guess is that he's giving a worst-case scenario. That doesn't mean his scenario is incorrect medically. It may just mean that he isn't being as hopeful in his medical analysis as, say, Jaylon's doctor - who actually performed the surgery and is more acquainted with Jaylon's situation - would be.

I do not criticize his qualifications, I tend to listen to the doctor who is actually treating a person over those who are looking at the situation from the outside.

Getting generalized facts from sports radio personalities and doing "medical research" on the interwebz lacks a fair amount of accuracy and precision.

Too many contrasting opinions from so called "experts". I'm just going to take the wait a see approach and hope for the best outcome possible for Jaylon. OTAs are almost here so with that and training camp coming soon after, we will see how much progress our 2016 2nd round draft pick has made.

If only you had taken that approach months ago before you professed there was no chance the kid would ever see the field.

But LOL at you suddenly wanting to take the calm, balanced position.

Not sure how credible this is . . . but some of the analytical points are worth noting . . . .

"Recovery from nerve injury is usually early or not at all.
At this point medically, it appears there is no way for the nerve to ever be 100 percent.
Smith has blown through the reported recovery estimate already, as his doctor initially indicated a three-month timeline from April of 2016. No question he had a top surgeon, who happens to be the Cowboys team doctor, but there is not much one can do about a nerve. It either does or doesn’t recover."

Why does it have to be a dark prediction? Why not just a prediction?

Everything I've heard on the topic had Smith's recovery rate at or ahead of schedule the entire time. And we heard early on that the recovery rate was supposed to be ~inch/month. Neither of those is consistent with what 'ProFootballDoc' is reporting here.

Should also note he's quoting Chao pretty heavily here, and Chao had nothing to do with Jaylon's procedure or recovery.
Leslie Chao?

Why does it have to be a dark prediction? Why not just a prediction?

Leslie Chao?

That's him, right?

It really, really sucks that no one will tell us what is really going on with Jaylon. :(

I read this clown's speculatory click bait this morning and immediately found myself fighting to get that 5 minutes back.

Don't miss the regenerated nerve tonight on DWTS! It's doing the circuit!
