Pain is an odd thing. I've had doctors pulling stuff out of a wound in my gut without anesthesia and attacks of gout with little to no effect. In both cases the doctors were surprised at my lack of response. In other cases I've reacted poorly to small injuries or treatment that surprised them the other way.

As a result of my personal experience, I no longer give anybody else a hard time about how they respond to an injury.
