Dolphins at Eagles Preseason Thread

I have read some things that suggest the Eagles are thinking about starting Smallwood.

Is that true?

They'll be insane. They'll ignore the fact that their defense, that they believe will be a Top 3, elite defense, got shredded and the golden child in Darby got roasted repeatedly.
 
Well Matt Moore still sucks.

I can't believe the Dolphins actually thought for like 5 minutes that they could get by with Moore as the starter. LOL.
 
1st round - DE Derek Barnett vs. DE Taco Charlton
2nd round - CB Sidney Jones vs. CB Chidobe Awuzie
3rd round - CB Rasul Douglas vs. CB Jourdan Lewis
4th round - WR Mack Hollins vs. WR Ryan Switzer
6th round - S Nathan Gerry vs. S Xavier Woods

Amazing how similar their drafts were in terms of positions and rounds. You could even add a late 6th rounder on DT Qualls for the Eagles vs. our 7th rounder on DT Ivie.

My question. Heads up like this, player vs player. How many wins for the Cowboys? I say maybe 3, Awuzie, Lewis and Woods, though I'm giving them Awuzie simply because I don't know if Jones comes back to form after that injury. He's a better player at 100%.

You are talking about the original source of angst in Cowboy circles.

We floated Matt Moore way back when and lost him.

Now people are worried about Cooper Rush.

Yeah, I didn't believe he wouldn't make it but it was reported by one lone media member that he might not.

The Eagles have crap at RB. I'm not a big Blount guy. Look at his career and not just one magical season in football heaven.

Barnett is a stud we would kill for.

I don't have a feel for Jones v. Awuzie because they are different types of corners.

Lewis is far superior to Douglas if he is healthy.

I laughed when they picked Hollins in the 4th. I just did not see him as reliable. As our luck sees it, Switzer can't even log a preseason snap after being a horse at Chapel Hill.

Woods should be far better than Gerry who they keep flopping between LB and S.

I hate even judging Awuzie, Lewis and Woods, mainly because it appears they have adopted the Mo Claiborne track to NFL success so far.

My mistake. Gerry was the last pick of the 5th round.

I guess this makes this whole thing a waste of time.

Barnett > Charlton
Lewis > Douglas
Woods > Gerry

The toss ups are the other two.
 
While we went back to Nolan Carroll a second time, we did not do it for Chris Long.

He has already been a solid veteran influence on that team.

But hey, he is too old. We would rather mess around other fools who have zero common sense.
