The league wants the right to suspend for matters that make the league look bad. So they do their own investigating, rather than simply relying on the legal system. Then they repeatedly ignore mountains of evidence when making a ruling. It happened in the Brady case and appears to have happened here. Then the league looks even worse for being inconsistent and for needlessly going after its own stars. The league needs new leadership in the worst way.

Agreed but that ship has sailed and now the suspension is based solely on an accusation of DV. Likewise, the appeal decision should be based on the ability of Elliott's defense to discredit those accusations alone. By mentioning the St Patrick's Day incident in the suspension letter sent to Elliott, without attributing it to the suspension itself, that incident is now unpunishable.

This "investigation" lasted a full year and the head investigator recommended no suspension. The NFL disregards this and then not only suspends the player but irresponsibly releases a bogus statement to justify their false "verdict". This statement goes a very long way in ruining a young man's reputation by labeling him one of the worst things a man can be called in society today.

If this information is true, you have to wonder the motivation of the NFL. What in the world are they doing?

Best course for Henderson is to void the suspension and send the case back to NFL and order they apply set procedures in their investigation ..

This way they have a good reason why the suspension was removed, and thy please the public by saying "We are not done, we will review our investigation blah blah blah" .. only thing is they will be throwing the 4-people panel under the bus, which is ok since no one cares who they are

If this report is true, a court case is inevitable and Zeke is likely to win. Take your pick of what the NFL has done here. Obvious bias, clear collusion by Friel, procedural violations, disparate treatment, unfair treatment, defamation, not to mention possible racism and civil rights violations. Zeke's lawyers should be threatening Goodell with something like a $500,000,000 lawsuit as we speak. Zeke likely has a case against the NFL even if Henderson vacates the suspension completely.
