Signed by Cowboys OT Jarron Jones signed to practice squad

He definitely has the arm length and anchor that you would look for in a tackle prospect. A defensive temperament isn't a bad thing either. Will need a lot of work though. As a side note, Mark Tuinei was originally a DT with the Cowboys before moving to the OL, and Everett McIver was the same.

Is it a given we're looking at him as an OT? He flashed quite a bit as a DT at Notre Dame and has the frame to maybe develop into a freaky 1Tech

Interesting given Jones was a DT at ND

He has an interesting story. Offensive lineman in high school. Moved to defensive line at Notre Dame. And then moved back to offensive line when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Giants.

The kid was a stud when he wanted to be at ND. Problem was he was way too inconsistent.

If you went off of his game tape against Florida State in 2014 and Miami in 2016, you would draft him in the top 15. He was that dominant in those games.

If you went off of his game tape against Navy in 2016, you wouldn't have drafted him at all. He was that non existent in that game. He was a wildly inconsistent player in college.

He's intriguing to me as a developmental offensive tackle because of his physical traits. If they are patient with him, there's some real possibilities there.

A Giants OL castoff. I'm elated.
He couldn't crack that elite squad? Ouch. It's like eating the leftover scraps from a junk yard dog.

It was rumored he was pretty much scared Navy's chop blocks would screw his knee up again and he played ultra conservative that game.
