Reality check? You mean like the several years we did the same thing, going 3 and out by playing ultraconservative with a lead, and it burned us? You can play like that against carson palmer, but a better qb will burn you and lead a last minute td drive. If you can seal a game on offense, especially when the majority of talent is on the offense, you do that.

LOL

Hey, if you can't complain about what actually happened, you can always complain about what MIGHT have happened had we been playing a better team with a better QB.

CZ never disappoints the morning after a win. lol

My point is it's September, we just notched a real nice road win, and you're ranting and raving about playoff success.

You must be a blast to watch games with.

i still love how you judge me without knowing me. have i done that to you ever?

Its september, and it matters as much as november. you will get good weeks, bad weeks, difficult games when you expect them easier, but the reality is if you are going to win the playoffs and be a contender you have to be strong in some phases of the game. The OP is only pointing out that Dallas has a problem finishing against hurt teams. Hes not saying its doom and gloom, hes not saying its the end of the season, just that its a bit of a shame that when a team is hurt he would like to see Dallas finish it off, not demand it, not even think its going to derail this SB run we are on. I tend to agree, it would be nice to see Dallas dominate a whole game. Didnt happen last night, not the end of the world, but it would be nice to see it again. Does it need to be week to week? no, but we would like to see it again.

I had question Garretts ability to exploit a teams weakness, luckily Rod agreed and went after it. It paid off. At least he saw blood in the water and let his sharks feast. that was nice to see.

this team is on the way but you feel the need to ***** fine get after it

20 plus years, sooner or later, we re going to do it. give a team 30, 40 50, 60 years, they might do it too. Heck Detroit is on pace to beat the 100 year mark, fingers crossed.

this post is meant for the cardinal's forum. They were the ones who didn't "put a fork" in us after their very strong start at home with notable crowd noise. They had us on our heels and were winning TOP without David Johnson. They let us back in the game, not the other way around.

They left points on the field. They had costly penalities that removed points. They couldn't protect CP with a shuffled offensive line. They missed a 36 yard field goal.

The cardinals helped us win.

One of my biggest concerns about this team thats been played over and over is that we still have trouble putting a fork in a team. We squander great opportunities to finish off teams only to let them right back into the game.

We let the Cardinals right back into this game when we should have just finished them off when they punted on 4th down. A few good plays with a bit of luck on the Cardinals part could have tied this game up.

We got possession, had a great chance to run down the clock be we couldn't gain an inch. I think its due in part to bad play calling at that crucial time.

The main problem is from there, we had to brawl our way to victory in the last 2 minutes and it shouldn't have been that hard. This is where injuries can happen when you play hard when you shouldn't really have to. It could have been much easier on the team. Shaun Lee was cramping and he will feel it all week and D. L. seemed to tweak his knee etc. It does provide good practice but it definitely puts un-needed wear and tear on the team.

I think we need better play calling when we have the game in our grasp. That power run behind Fredrick was effective in the last quarter and that would wear down the defense; maybe a series of those.

And we put needless wear on tear on our players. I've played sports a lot and when I cramp up, those muscles can stay sore for at least a week. Shuan I think cramped up at the end and once the calf cramps, you have lots of CK's released and lactic acid build up plus micro tears. It could carry over to the next game. DL tweaked his knee. Make it easier for the players on an already injured team to get to the next weeks game. I give the Cowboys A+++++ for hanging in there and fighting the way they did. They fought hard the last 2 mins and I can't see them not being extra sore from that effort. I have a feeling some players are already playing injured and we don't know it.

We just gave the ball back to them way too easy without taking much of the clock in our last possession causing us to work that much harder on a team thats is already beat up.

The win was a nice one, but we have years of footage of cowboys going 3 and out against teams over and over and opposing qbs leading game leading drives. A win doesnt cover that up. Against a top notch qb, if you keep giving them the ball, they will get back in the game.

That's what I love about the NFL, No style points. Just win. Anyone saying the same thing about NE, Atlanta, or Philly yesterday morning? Nope.

And the D makes dunderhead plays at the worst time. That PI on Scandrick on 2nd and 21 after the DLaw sack was embarrassing.

I hate when our CBs do that, and I hope the rookies don't learn it because our CBs have been making that play for 10 years. You're beat, but don't compound it by blatant interference. If the QB and WR make the play, you can't change the fact that you are already beat. Just make the tackle and take your lumps. If you interfere you take away any possibility of allowing them to screw up and bail you out, or in this case the safety help made the play and would have bailed you out. It's just stupid to admit defeat and give them 34 yards for free. It didn't hurt us in the end, but gave AZ life when they should have had none.

BS. NE is loaded with exactly that talk today. Same basic arguments. And Belichick is grumpy as ever pointing out how much work they have to do and how lucky they were to escape with a win.

Last night was a nice win for us, but you can always point out places you screwed up. In fact, the better coaches tend to be more critical when teams win than when they lose. Don't let them drink their own kool-aid and get big heads.

I'm sorry can you provide some examples of this?- where we allowed an opponent to make a comeback against us because our offense kept going 3 and out while trying to protect a lead.

Hasn't happened this year.

Don't remember it happening last year.

Are you seriously complaining about stuff from 2015 or older?

LOL

Ask Pitt, NE and Atlanta about finishing teams off. Wins are not easy to come by especially on the road. We had chances to take command moreso, but all things considered including that avalanche in the first quarter, I'd say a win on the road by 11 showed a lot of fight. We put them away, got pressure on Palmer and didn't allow a cheap score to make things interesting. Full team effort.

I didn't say we didn't need to improve. My point is we can win 3-0 and I don't care! Just keep doing it. It's all about the playoffs in this league. No voters, or committees to style point you.

We failed in milking the clock that was my point. We had possession couldn't gain a micrometer and gave back the ball. We let them back in and had to work our butts off to defensively to hold them. It shouldn't have been that hard causing wear and tear on the players.

If you're Ok with a winning record and the team staying home for the Championship game (s) then this team did great and I have no argument. I stand corrected.
We didn't milk the clock because we ran every down, they knew you would run and they had two TO. We forced them to use their TO and we did that by running first and second down into a defense that's good and knew you would run. With a two score lead and then needing a two point conversion it was the smart call to go ahead and run on 3rd rather than pass and risk stopping the clock

Couple that with prevent defenses while we are ahead and it was no wonder we had so many close games in the past.

It's a road win in a tough environment where we historically haven't played well at least in the last 10-15 years. No road win in the NFL is easy. Take it and stop whining.

Following the Cardinals FG to cut our lead to 3, it was absolutely crucial to move the ball to take time off the clock. The offense did better than that and put up a TD to put the game realistically out of reach.

What am I missing? Not putting a fork in them would have been a 3 and out and relying on the defense to make a stop.
