They always go after each other.

Mickey is such a stubborn old man.

“I don’t need to watch the tape, I watched the game!”

Broaddus is old and just as stubborn. Mickey did watch the game. Why would he need to watch tape?

And he has more of a legitimate reason to think so since, you know, he was an NFL scout. I absolutely hate Mickey's delusional arrogance. Hate it.

And Mickey has been covering the CBoys since the 1980s. He knows the game. Just because Broaddus had a title as scout, doesn't make him more knowledgeable. Broaddus is just as delusional in his arrogance if not more. Broaddus attacks twitter followers for giving a different opinion than he, if that's not arrogance, don't know what is.

Mickey sounds like a grumpy old man with a bad case of hemorrhoids. You can tell he doesn't like Taylor on the show and is always trying to pick a fight with her. He's super freakin annoying.

She is the one making snide jokes about Mickey. Why would he like that? "Oh Mickey is this, or Mickey wouldn't do this...". She is more super freakin' annoying.

They are both super annoying. It's just that Mickey could be her dad in age. You expect someone much older to take the high road and be more professional about it. He is as immature as someone who is half his age. It's really sad actually.

She is making snide comments at his expense. She is an adult, she too can take the high road and be more professional about it. I don't see him as immature. You guys don't like him because he stands up for his opinions.

What they both did was unprofessional but she probably has 2 years of real world work experience compare to Mickey's 30plus years. They are being watched/heard by bunch of fans. The right thing for Mickey to do is to brush it off and have a talk with her during the break instead of acting like a little butt hurt kid.

I agree with the shots she takes at him. Seems awkward. I mean they all do, like Rob, but they do it more playful and less often. I don't mind Tay, I just don't like her as a host. She changes how she talks (gets more professional sounding or something), when she's not hosting she offers more opinions.

I could do without hearing how much she loves and respects Jason Witten for the millionth time though.

Do we know why Mickey takes it so personal to point he is gonna stroke out over star players?

I think it's just how he is now. He talks to a lot of the management and has a good relationship with them, probably doesn't want to rattle any cages. So his default is to defend the team. Which is fine (the rest of the staff will call it like they see it, so one homer is fine) , but like others have mentioned, he gets annoying in how he won't give an opinion on something but is always right after the fact

This was great, thanks for the heads up.

Mickey was right, though. And he was irritated because Broaddus was asking the dumb question, and then being condescending when Mickey gave him an answer he disagreed with by telling him he needed to watch the tape. I'd have been cranky with that nonsense, too.

But that AZ defense *was* fast laterally this week, and the OLs were missing on some of their blocks and it blew up those plays. You can expect a back to make a defender miss now and then, or run through a S's arm tackle, but not every play. The blocking mistakes definitely cost Elliott some yardage last week.

Don't care about her work experience. She can stop with insults, and then wouldn't get the heated exchange coming back.

When Broaddus asked Mickey if he thought Zeke lost a step, Mickey donned his tap dancing shoes and performed his regular routine.

I'm paraphrasing, but I remember it going like this:

Broaddus: "Then answer the question, Mickey. Do you feel like Zeke wasn't as quick as he has been?"
Spagnola: "I just did! I said there were no holes for him to run through!"
Broaddus: "That's not was I asked."
Spagnola: "Well I guess I don't understand the question!"

zeke *has* looked sluggish. he and i both need to tighten up around the tummy.

I doubt Mickey will stop. If you watch the show often, you'll see Mickey trying to pick a fight for no reason. She could just say hello, and he'll try to start an argument. It's just stupid and annoying for the audience.

I watch/ listen to it every day. Mickey doesn't pick a fight. He only defends himself. Man, you have some big time grudge against Mickey for some reason.

No. I don't have a grudge against Mickey. I just can't stand unprofessionalism. As I said she was being unprofessional as well but I'll give her a little more slack being someone that young. I just expect more from someone who is 50 plus years old. He should know better.

That, and Mickey is a huge team apologist. Whatever angle is pro-team, coach, or player, that's the side of the argument he chooses.

While that's a fair statement, imo, it's an equally fair statement to say that he often finds himself in conversations with people who are the polar opposite--ie, huge team antagonists, who almost always think themselves better talent evaluators and themselves better coaches than people who actually had to work their way up to get to the positions they occupy.

Always prefer people who at least seem to attempt balance, and too, in that same spirit, can acknowledge their own fallibility.

So she gets a pass because being young? Why? So no matter what she says or does on air, she gets a pass? She is an adult, not some 13 year old teen.

Despite his rose colored glasses I like Mickey,,,, he's like an old friend from back before the interwebz. Kind of like how some people like Norm Hitzges because he's been around forever. I never heard him until after streaming radio came about and I can't get past that ridiculous voice of his.

I don't blame him. The dude is a little Italian that has made a career as a writer with the Cowboys and gets to work at the Ranch and now the Star. Go to all the games, etc etc. rough life!

No. She doesn't get a pass every time. But there is this thing called rookie mistakes. Just like in football, you don't want vets to make same mistakes a rookie will make.

As a vet, if you see a inexperienced player making mistakes, it's part of your job to help him/her correct it. No difference here.
