What better time than now to churn the roster to shake things up? Maybe send a message to the locker room. Both players were just waived. Not sure of the level of interest among other teams, but if we have a chance to sign both we should. Both are young, talented and were recently drafted in the 1st 4 rounds. Collins comes with some issues and is coming off a PED suspension, but he'd probably be the most talented CB on our roster...would just have to get his head on right. So put the waiver claim in on Collins and if no one signs Marsh snatch him up as well. He'd be an upgrade as a situational pass rusher over both Taco and Mayowa right now.

Cut Benwikere and Nugent (if the doctors clear Bailey). McFadden and March-Lillard also cut options.

Would love both but Collins was really good and would upgrade our secondary day 1.

Lewis, Collins, Awuzie, Brown.....a young talented group for sure

Lewis is immensely talented. More talented than Collins.

This defense is being hamstring by a coaching staff that refuses to adjust to the game and/or go with what actually works over their own comfort zone dependence.

I don’t trust them to make use of any level of talent and generally expect everyone to regress in season two. Outside of the offensive line it’s happened with every single position year after year.

Lewis looks good, but relax with “immensely talented”.

Not sure what the rest of that rambling had to do with this thread...

I agree and I was thinking the same thing, especially on Collins. Dump Mayowa as well if you need to. He's obviously not the answer and has no future here.

This team isn't going anywhere this year, churn baby churn!

If the Cowboys don't, someone else will.

I’d be interested in Collins but Marsh is pretty bad. He’s not better than any of our current DEs.

I would first review all 310 practice squad players in other teams.

I do like the idea of adding players with potential at this time of year.

Marsh is dealing with an injury so he might just be a signing for next sesson.

Collins obviously has talent but was suspended 4 games last season and 10 this season. Is he worth developing considering he'll be susoending long term next time?

The Browns or Niners probably sign them. Waiver claims are now based on 2017 records.

I would bring in Cassius due his name.

Still would be a better signing than Carroll

The kid is very talented he’s shown it. He’s been our best corner since he stepped on the field.

The rest of the post is my feelings on why adding talented players won’t help.

Want me to teach you to tie your shoes, now?

Lol do you just wake up that angry?

Collins has prototype measurables.

And I'd roll the dice on him for the duration of his rookie deal.

If he's suspended again, you just move on, no assets lost.

But, as you said, worse teams will probably put in claims. But nothing ventured, nothing gained.

On the bright side the Cowboys are not far from the top of the claiming order...

Collins yes but no to Marsh. I've seen him play during a few new England games and I completely understand why they waived him. Name was always being called for the wrong reasons

Ever the optimist!

But seriously, why not churn some of those spots like McFadden, Mayowa, and Benwikere who are doing nothing for the team?
McFadden is an odd situation. I agree there is no point keeping him now.

Benwikere might be an ok backup. I really have no idea since he only plays ST but Collins could likely replace him on ST this season and would be under contract next season if claimed.

Not sure they have enough DEs without Mayowa. I can only think of 4 off the top of my head.

I always liked Riley Bullough LB on TB's practice squad

Def like Collins over Bene
