Tight ends not named witten have combined for 318 snaps and 6 passing targets. Heck why do we even need two tight end sets if this is the case, just throw out another lineman. Sure the counter argument is another linemen gives it away that it's a run and there wouldn't be the "threat" of the other TE in the passing game, but defensive coordinators probably play the percentages and realize that the "other" tight end never catches passes

Because there is a lack of talent at receiver. At least Swaim and Hanna are good blockers and are used in 6 and 7 man protections as well as being a force in the run game.

The main issue here is the erosion of Witten's talent. He's fallen off the cliff. It's certainly not like TWill and Butler are inspiring fear in opponents from the passing threat they present either.

The best chance we have is to have teams cheat on the run and open up the middle of the field. Tipping run is not a bad thing if the opponent overplays it.

This staff has given Witten the keys to the gate....

Nothing will happen until he decides its time.....

Rico SHOULD be the STARTER!

Not until he beats out Witten should he be the starter. As of right now Witten is 10 times better than Rico.

Few quick thoughts:

-If Rico could play right now...he'd be out there. We outsiders don't know the full story
-Hanna had a serious injury. I doubt he'll ever be the same...sure doesn't have same speed as before
-I'm calling it here and now: Witten will retire
-We'll be drafting TE and/or looking at free agency
