NFLN just said the loser of the Seattle - Dallas game is eliminated from the playoffs.

I have not checked to see if this is true or not. But it seems like it may be so.

So does this put Garrett on the hot seat...

A lose and out game, win and stay alive game...yes the last 3ga,es have been that way...but now it is down to the nut crunching time as there is no room for error. As all the other teams been winning as well.

That is my understanding as well. There may be some obscure way to lose and still get in, but I seriously doubt it.

I too have little faith in JG to get them ready, but this is the season of miracles.

Call on every able body and play to win.

Win or lose, Garrett returns next year. I think it would be safe to assume, however, Marinelli is gone as DC. His defenses do not generate enough turnovers.

I actually see Seattle as being a relatively easy win, they are spinning out of ctrl and their defense has been decimated. Not the a Seattle of old as the Rams just rolled them good.

From everything I've read and heard, we have to win both games, Atlanta must lose both games, and Detroit has to lose one game. Is this not correct?

This is not correct. Any of ATL, NO, or CAR can lose their last 2 games and we'd be fine assuming we win ours and DET loses one.

People simply have been discussing ATL losing 2 most often since they play NO and CAR, while NO/CAR both play the Bucs in one of their final games.

I don't believe you are correct, but I hope you are.

Sounds about right. Current wild card teams have 4 and 5 losses. A Dallas loss would give them 7 losses and a Seattle loss would give them 6 losses and likely would lose the tie-breaker to Atlanta.

Week 17 is irrelevant (our 16th game)....all hands on deck, beat the crap out of seattle, they are reeling...

if Dallas finishes as the 7th seed, this is gonna suck, because then they would draft 20th in each round for not making the playoffs

All playoff scenarios for the last several weeks have involved the Cowboys winning out. This is not new news.
