NFL Playoff Picture

The order shows the likelihood that Dallas gets in. We are number 9 right now.

The arrogance from our coaching staff from the Atlanta game is hurting us badly.

Maybe we will get lucky somehow but I just don't see it.

Detroit is going to be looking to ramp it up a gear and Cincy and Green Bay will "play their young guys".

We gotta have Detroit lose 1 and one of the AFC south teams lose 2.

It's a stretch to think that happens.

IF we get in the playoffs all bets are off because we have a strong run game, we protect the ball, and we can rush the passer.

I just don't see it though but I really hope i'm wrong.

No, the Falcons have to lose both games or Dallas is out and the Falcons play earlier in the day on Sunday.

I think Carolina or New Orleans could lose 2 and we would still get in. I'm not sure though.

It's a longshot whatever it is.

GB IRing Rodgers kinda sent the message to the whole team that they are tapping out.

Bengals have already tapped out.

This is correct. Barring a tie between ATL and NO, we CANNOT be eliminated until Week 17. We can have ATL, CAR, or NO lose both of their final 2 games - it doesn't matter which. The only reason people think it's ATL only is because many fans are relying on them being the team most likely to lose out given their schedule (NO, CAR).

I repeat, we CANNOT be eliminated before Week 17 if we beat Seattle barring a tie between NO and ATL since.

Right now one team in the NFC South will have to loose 2 straight games and the Lions have to loose 1. There is no other way in. That is why everyone is betting on the Falcons to flake.

We can't be eliminated with a tie either. A tie for Atlanta is 99.9999% as effective as a loss.

There is actually one other way. If both CAR and NO lose their final two games, allowing Atlanta to win the NFC South, we would NOT need Detroit to lose a game. In this scenario, DAL and DET are the two wildcard teams with CAR and NO being eliminated.

CAR schedule - vs. TB, @ ATL
NO schedule - vs. ATL, @ TB

We can still get in if New Orleans loses the next week again if the Falcons manage to win this sunday. Detroit has to lose.

Detroit doesn't have to lose in the extremely unlikely event that Atlanta and TB win out.

Edit: IheartRomo just beat me.

You're absolutely right - completely overlooked that. There is absolutely no scenario where we are eliminated this week unless we lose to SEA.

I doubt that would haopen but it could happen.

I almost guarantee the Falcons will lose this weekend, at least that's one of the games I'm putting my money on and I'm real tempted to take Cincy straight up (that's more on gut feeling than anything plus Deeeetroit is only favored by 4.5 which is also interesting).
