Not all, bro. Had them 8-8. Down year. QB problem. The whole deal.
Kudos to you. I drank the KoolAid. There’s a lot of problems that extend past QB, however...although obviously that’s the most important position.

More the sound of resignation. As long as Jerry makes football decisions this team is winning nothing.
Funny how if you made this comment as few as three or so years ago, you would get the

Well, Jerry ain't goin' no where so if you don't like it, you can just geeeeet out!

Now?

Stone cold silence and resignation. Almost a feeling of hopelessness.

Welcome to what a lot of people have felt for a long time with Jones still calling the shots.

Over the past few years I would have gotten much more angry with a loss like the Seattle one. But after the poor coaching over the years it's something that I just expect. When a fan base stops getting angry because they are used to losing, the owner should listen twice as hard. Basically we are told to trust Jerry, well Jerry, you have beaten the fan base down to a point of just not caring enough to get upset.

Congrats Jerry. You've beaten the life out of us. I've been a huge fan for the past 40 years and it's the first time I'm just past getting angry. We knew that this team would let us down like all of the ones under JG. If you don't do something to change things the fan base will become less and less passionate. Just listen to how quite this forumn is when it should be full of passionate people upset. Instead they expect the product that you have been putting out on the field so it wasn't a surprise.

Yeah, the Green Bay playoff game in 2014 further sucked the life out of me.
The NFL in general has irritated me some too
Now I still do care, but not as much as I once did.

The sad part is I will. At least slightly.
I will be like a sick junkie by April. But I don't know if I am getting older or just not caring as much, but what once would have been a level ten, will be like a six.

By this time I normally have a pretty good bead on the draft class and who I want the team to target.

Right now and especially through this season, I have not felt the desire to waste the time.

The question is will Stephen be any different? I haven't seen any evidence of it. Just fan hope.

Actually, we have seen evidence of him being just like his father.

If you pay attention to how he talks when asked questions about the roster, he is always positive about talent. That is because it serves him better to be positive about it because he doesn't know it well enough. The only time he gets remotely critical is when a player's value starts to skew the balance of the books. And even then, he will hang on a year or two longer than is healthy.

So no. Stephen Jones will not be much different. Maybe even a little cheaper.

We've all seen this same movie too many times under JJ/JG era. We all know how it ends. There is nothing to get excited about. Only disappointment at the end asking yourself "why did I get suckered in again?".

If you can be honest, we all root for a corpse. For a team that doesn't exist anymore. The Dallas Cowboys are dead. The death certificate reads "Cause of death: Jerry".

They are now just another team in the league. Nothing special about them whatsoever. Just making the playoffs is suddenly something to be proud of and a crowning achievement of a coach's tenure. The bar has dipped so low. Our fans have become conditioned to accept what was always unacceptable and it being unacceptable is what made the Cowboys great.

It's unbelievable to me how one man's ego could cause all this.

I've been a sports fan all of my life. Passionate. In all 4 major sports leagues as well as Nascar, Boxing and MMA. You develop a lot of hate for players and teams over the years if sports is a big part of your life. At least I do.

If you combined all the hate I've acquired in the sports world over the years and multiplied it by 2 you wouldn't get half the hate I have for Jerry Jones. I loathe his existence. Merely hearing his voice makes me want to commit a crime.

And I think I'll stop there. Go Cowboys. Excited for next season. It already just feels different.

If I could like 100 times I would!

Started watching in 75. Saw basically 2 decades of “expecting excellence.” Would flip a TV tray over a playoff loss. Right now it’s ok to some fans to ALMOST get to the playoffs with 9 wins. “Oh so close!” And the main cog is Jerry selling us the same BS. Not sure how a business man could watch the early 90s up close and lose touch with how it works. Ego!!

JG should never of been hired to be an OC, let alone a HC. He has been in over his head from day one.
A guy like Kyle Shanahan paid his dues for 20 years learning for his Dad and Kubiak before going off on his own to be an OC.
Bingo. Garrett had zero qualifications/experience to be an NFL-level OC. The Garrett family "Sham-Wowed" the hell out of the Jones'.

As long as suckers will keep buying the brand and the silly idea that this is actually one of the elite franchises in the NFL, who cares.

Fans are very capable of being conditioned as long as the bottom does not fall out.

That has happened only a few times in the last two decades.

And that is just great for business for the Jones family.

8-8 is actually easier to sell than going 10-6 for years and years and never winning a playoff game.

Getting to the playoffs makes things a little more critical and messy.

But 8-8? That is just so close! A missed FG here? Another injury coming back? A failed draft choice who can be counted as an "extra" draft choice the next season?

It is a well that we have gone back to, year after year under Garrett.

And they all. All of them. Love it.

I wonder what Garrett was like as a player after Jimmy Johnson left. He probably ran and told Jerry Jones what Chan Gailey was doing wrong on a weekly basis and started building his credibility.

Whew! For a second I thought the players sucked, not the coaching. Good thing we have players like Dak and Dez to cover up the coaching flaws.
