The. funniest thing about Garrett homers is them blaming the defense always for his failures and more scapegoating.
Ironically, we got Stephen Jones saying this year that the offense was at fault for all the TOs they had, putting too much pressure on the defense.
But the Garrett homers never seemed to say it was Garrett’s fault when he was in control of the offense and kept turning the ball over to the opposing team. The year Wade was fired, in 8 games the offense already turned the ball over 19 TIMES. The Commanders loss could directly be attributed to one of Garrett’s most comically inept playcalls in history, when Choice fumbled on the last play of the half on a checkdown with over 60 yards to go.
When Garrett fired Rob Ryan he basically said that his ability to not generate TOs didn’t give his offense extra chances to score, yet per that same logic, Garrett’s offense per his homers was never to blame for the opposing offense getting more chances off his own turnovers.
This year Dak was a TO machine and set records in futility for pick 6s.
These same Garrett homers in other contexts will rightly blame TO disparity for us losing, but turn a blind eye to it, when defending Garrett’s TO prone offenses that couldn’t field an effective running game worth a grain of salt, so his offenses couldn’t control TOP tiring the defenses out and he turned the ball over, giving the opposing team good field position and wearing the defense out to eventually implode in the 4th quarter.
