Yep, contact was initiated by the TE before Hitchens reacted. If anything we were fortunate not to get flagged for his reacting to an offensive PI. Why we have to diminish our only playoff win is beyond me.

Hell yes agree 100% they missed an OBVIOUS PI/holding call against the defense but Witten caught it anyway and we ended up scoring the go ahead TD to win the game.

Well coached/managed teams are put in position to take advantage of certain situations. There’s a reason why this franchise has been so mediocre for 2 decades. The playoffs are about getting hot at the right time and taking advantage of that momentum. Dallas was smoking hot last year and should not have been one and done. Coaching got them during that playoff game and coaching got them this year. Their failures as a franchise are easily explained....

Romo had a lot more bad luck in the playoffs than good luck.

As I said in my post though...the Lions are actually the most unlucky. That is a pretty depressing franchise when you look at their history.

Well I was a fan for 4 of them. I was alive for the first one but didn't follow football then. I tell you those years were amazing.

Despite all of that, we were still one lucky play from potentially winning they game.

Eagle fans would be saying they same exact post about their coach right now if the refs called PI against Julio. Instead, their coach is a genius. Literally one play can change the perception of a player or coach..even if it isn’t always in their hands.

I would KILL to have one playoff win that gets us to at least the NFCCG that I feel lucky to get. I want to feel guilty about a win!

If that is the case, I hope whoever it is gets a promotion real quickly. Probably wouldn't happen though, because there is a family friend in the way.

I think you're missing his point completely. Your perception of good or bad coaching is based strictly the bottom line outcome, but the outcome is often times dependent on things totally beyond the coach's control. E.g., Eli is considered a HoFer because of 2 Super Bowl wins. But how would he be viewed differently if, in the first one, Assante Samuel doesn't pull a Anthony Brown and drop an easy, gift interception on the Giants last drive. The Giants wouldn't have won and Eli would've been labeled a goat. Maybe that sticks and they don't win the 2nd one.

There is no doubt that a bad coach will begat bad outcomes, but to ignore that luck has an impact is not being realistic.

To put it another way, I was saw Johnny Miller block an approach shot way right into the trees at Hilton Head. The ball ricocheted out and bounded onto the green finally coming to rest about 2 ft. from the pin for a kick-in birdie. Now, was that birdie due to luck or was Johnny so good that he planned to hit just that tree at the absolute perfect angle and speed?

While I was watching the end of the game, I was thinking, "The Cowboys are just like the Vikings, losing at home in a playoff game they should win". Then the final play happened and I thought, "The Cowboys are just like the Saints" .. then I remembered the Saints won a Super Bowl recently.

Life is hard as a Cowboys' fan ..

The leagues best defense couldn’t stop Drew Brees at the end of the game much like the Cowboys mediocre defense couldn’t stop Aaron Aaron Rodgers at the end of 2 playoff games.

I didn't miss his point. The idea that we are the "most unluckiest" team in the NFL is a delusional exercise in excuse making for years of ineptitude.
