Third "random" drug test in 30 days.
And a certain super genius section of the forum wanted him gone as soon as possible.
Section? It was pretty much the entire forum.
I have no problem with it. Non-story. Yawn. Next. The NFL isn't picking on Newman. They aren't in charge of the testing.
According to the drug policy on Performance Enhancing Drugs, the players selected for testing are at the sole discretion of an Independent Administrator and neither the NFL, NFLPA, or NFL team can influence their decision. The IA is agreed upon why the NFL and NFLPA and can be discharged by the either side with a 1 year written notice.
Personally, I like to see stories like these. Even doing random tests, sometimes the same person should pop up. If it didn't, I would be more suspicious that it's not random. It shouldn't happen often, but it should happen occasionally.

you said nfl and independent lol. just like their "independent" arbitrators.
i liked newman and jenkins...they were always willing to play through whatever and were reliable.
Agree. Out with the old, in with the young.personally I still wish we had him.
but I do like our young'uns back there.
He’s a system corner. Looked great with Zimmer and not so great with others. We all saw Victor Cruz bake him in week 17. Stop the revisionist history talesAnd a certain super genius section of the forum wanted him gone as soon as possible.
I don’t see anyone claiming he is the best corner in the game. It sounds like you need to project an exaggerated reaction from people where it doesn’t exist in order to justify bashing him. He’s a system corner. I remember some saying it was a bad pick because he was already 25 as a rookie and thus would have a shortened career.
There are maybe a dozen or so players from that year still playing and he is the OLDEST starter on any defense in the NFL this year.
