Kris Richard hired as Defensive Backs coach

Pagano seems like the guy there but with Richard on the staff we might fill with a younger guy

Er...what? I like the hire, but he's a Pete Carrol protege who came up through the ranks and was fired in a purge of coordinators when they didn't make the playoffs, either. He might be a great fit, but he's got nothing on Marinelli and probably came here to learn from him for a time before going back up to coordinator.

We should have purged our coordinators too. The only reason we didn't is that they are making too much money. This guy will do more than learn from Rod, he'll probably put him out to pasture. I've seen way too many y coaches hang around past their prime, Rod is one of them. The modern Game has past him by. I appreciate his career, but he is not what he used too be. I've seen it first hand, up close and personal. Sad, when a very good coach becomes the butt of jokes when they keep hanging on instead of enjoying the golden years.

I just think left has been the assistant for a long time and if they retitle marinelli to assistant head coach I think they will also name left defensive line coach instead of assistant defensive line.
