While I don’t think it’s this year, I am realizing my time with Dez is probably only another year or two, so it prompted me to make this thread. Which Cowboy was it hardest for you to move on from just from a fan perspective?

For me it was Tony Romo. By the time I became a fan, Aikman was at the end of his rope and then I lived through the years of terrible QB play. Tony was everything to me: charasmatic, great role model, tough as nails, came from nothing (undrafted) and built himself into a star, and the ultimate competitor. Not to mention, fun as hell to watch. I’ll forever hurt that he’s gone.

Who was your guy?

Romo is definitely tough because i thought we were really close to putting the team around him to give him a chance.

I'll go a little old school on you though. Tony Dorsett. He was the man for so many years & probably because of my youth wasn't prepared not to see him on the field.

I'm not sure but great question. With Romo missing so much time over the years, and then this fabulous rookie saved our butts I kind of let him go even though he was my favorite player.

I thought Ware was done so I didn't miss him.

We are generally late to the party when we release players so I'm generally done with them for awhile before they even leave.

I'm done with Dez now, just like I was TO his final season here. I'm sure he has more in the tank but it will never be like it was before so I'm ok with that. This is a young mans league. Witten looked like a stiff out there yesterday at the pro bowl btw.

Romo :(:(:(:(:(

We go back to Romo last year when he was healthy, we are in the Super Bowl

Such a dumb decision sticking with Dak
OMG you need to stop. Romo wouldn't have lasted thru a full game coming back. He could barely make it thru a quarter of pre-season. You want the guy in a wheelchair? Romo wouldn't have led us anywhere because Dak would have been QB again very quickly when Romo went down, and the backlash of taking out a guy who was 11-1 when Romo came back would have ruined all team chemistry.

Tie between Ware and Church. Probably give the edge to Church. I was high on him very early on his career and I think it is sorely unappreciated for what he did in the run game.
