Pederson said what

Pederson said. “...........But it takes players. I tell the players all the time: ‘There is no magic play.’ Players make the plays

Bingo, been saying this for years, as a coach myself, I tell my players, I can give you all the schemes and plays in the world, but it doesn't mean s if you don't execute. You can beat anybody, by out executing them.

jimmy Johnson once said some (jerry) don't get the value of a good hc. he said it just after Oakland traded john gruden to the bucs. some coaches are great at x's and o's (landry). some are great motivators (jimmy). but what they all have in common is a great staff of coordinators and assistant coaches on their payroll. I always found it interesting that jimmy won as many superbowls in 5 years as tom did in 29 years.

So we've had stupid players for 23 years?

Ask Bill Parcells, you answered your own question, We've had HOF coach and 4 other coaches in those 23 years. Has any of them won a superbowl?

LOL at thinking you can call any old play and as long as you execute it properly, it will work.

And by the way if you truly believe that, then let's also note if a team can't consistently execute what you are calling, that's still a massive coaching failure.

What that tells me is our owner sucks balls at hiring head coaches. You have Parcells, who was arguably at the end of his run anyway, and then a bunch of other coaches who have done diddly after their Cowboys tenures. Garrett seems to be the next in line of poor coaching hires by Jerry.

players can execute plays properly only if they have been effectively coached to do so. goff and the rams didn't get better overnight left to their own vices. they got a new hc. the 49er's haven't improved on their own. they got shanahan. some years before shanahan, the 49ers were stinking it up until they hired harbaugh. when he left, they floundered out of control. the giants got rid of coughlin and immediately stunk up the league. the jaguars picked him up for his knowledge and immediately got better. the list goes on.

Well, Wade was hired before by another organization, Garrett turned down a job in B-more and was hot in Atlanta, Gailey was a hot candidate too. Camp that was a fail.
What happens if the defense "executes" what play they called?

How does that work out? If the offense "executes" their play exactly and the defense "executes" their play exactly, what should be the result?

Then you was just beat. That's sports in general, sometimes you the other team execute plays too, it's who executes the best or the most. They get paid too.

And then they lost personnel to injuries and didn't even skip a beat. Certainly, no one would win with say the Browns roster. But when you have quality talent, good coaching gets the most out of them, especially when injuries set in. Any Cowboys fan who watched the Vikings game and how they used Foles against a legit to flight defense and then comes away saying, "well, it was just talent that won them that game" has a clear agenda to defend the boob we have running our franchise.

I am not shocked you are leading the "coaching isn't as important as you think" charge given your propensity to look everywhere for excuses for Garrett's lackluster 7 year run as HC.

I haven't seen anybody suggest 'it was just talent,' but it's not surprising you have to mischaracterize the argument to try to make your point. The league is about personnel. Yes, coaching is important, but it's secondary to personnel.

Anyone who saw Foles (new player) play in the NFCG knows the deal. He threw a pinpoint pass into coverage deal downfield on the flea flicker to Smith (new player). He had another on-target bomb to Jeffries (new player) on the double move where Newman fell down. He played great.

That game hinged on an early pick-6 when Long (new player) hit Keenum's arm and Robinson (new player) picked it and returned it to the house.

You can't look at this year's Eagles team and last year's team and suggest the difference is the same group of coaches are just coaching better. And then hold up your 'evidence' of this to be the fact that three players got hurt and the replacements played well and so it must have been because of the coaching. Anybody willing to be honest looks at what Roseman did with that roster and can recognize he did a fantastic job putting that team together and they're in the Superbowl as a result.

One area where real good coaching comes in is when you have key injuries. My hats off to Pederson for the job he did overcoming the loss of their LT and Wentz who was having an MVP year. Had the Cowboys had the same situation happen to them during the season they wouldn’t have won another game the rest of the year. We lost our starting RB for six games and completely fell apart. Even when Zeke came back we lost a critical game to a team that didn’t even make the playoffs. I’m amazed that Philly was able to overcome the losses of those key players and end up in the Super Bowl.

So than everyone was wrong about Foles. Go figure.

How do you know they haven't unless you've been at practices everyday. Once a player hit the field, the coach have absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of a play, or how a player execute. The 49ers loaded up on talent for years. Shanahan was killed after the superbowl in Atlanta. He also was average in San Fran until Garrappolo came along.

So we've had stupid players for 23 years?
Undertalented, wrong position, underdeveloped, and poor backups due to overpaying average talent.

Someone is stupid, but I'm thinking the stupidity of players is the least of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
