Get Cousins at all costs!

Two of those Pick Sixes hit the WR in the hands and the WR then volleyballed them into a DBs hands. Its a real stretch to blame Dak for that.

Also hasn't Dez said publicly that he ran the wrong route on the Denver pick six by Talib?

People claimed he ran the wrong route without any evidence whatsover.

1. Dak has his eyes on Dez the whole time.
2. I don't know how any end-zone route calls for Dak to basically throw straight, without any speed, floating it while not even bothering to look at the CB.
3. Looking at the first connection between Dak and Dez, I think Dak was expecting the same exact result on that TD, but in that case Dez first turns around and looks at Dak. In this case, Dak doesn't even bother with any clues on the field.

Romo threw four picks in one half. Only other qb I saw pull that off was Nathan Peterman.
Also Romo in his second year was three years older than Dak.

You mean the game he ended up correcting his own errors and winning though?

I would rather face Cousins twice a year than Smith. I think Smith is the most under-rated QB in the last 15 years. And he's as good a runner as any QB in the league.

I think the Skins did a helluva upgrade at QB.
I guess his legs makes Smith more dangerous. But the Cowboys average D faired well against both QBs last year. They put up similar passing stats over the last 3 seasons. Sounds like Kirk wasn’t going to stay after they tagged him the second time.

Except you’re lying, you weren’t watching a Bills game. It’s not even that rare, you are also conveniently forgetting that Roethlisberger threw 4 interceptions in one half just this year, in a game it was far more likely you’d be watching. Except it doesn’t fit your narrative. Nice try though troll... you’re getting a little better at least.

Flozell Adams was arguably the only good OL. Davis was a bust and Columbo was a journeyman. Gurode couldn't even snap the ball properly and couldn't call out the plays, he was mentally dumb.

The first year Romo fully started, the OL was in it's first year together and Dak had all of his linemen with the exception of Martin, which was two years (Still more than the guys Romo was with) playing together a minimum of 3 years together. They were ALL PRO lineman before Dak even got here.

Just stop with this ridiculousness.

Dak even gets to work with Linehan as OC, while Romo was shackled with Garrett as a play-caller. By the time Dak got here, Callahan had already established the line and running game and when Garrett was here, they were looking to bring in Dan Reeves, because he had no experience calling running games and he absolutely sucked at it.

Just stick to the rookie argument and Dak needs time, because the rest is just utterly foolish.

Dude stop with the revisionist history.

I did clearly say that the offensive line wasn’t as good as Dak’s current.

But slamming guys like Colombo and Gurode and Davis who played well here is plain wrong on your part. It was a solid offensive line.

Also I noticed how you didn’t mention the receivers at all. Perhaps because you know that Dak’s current receiver couldn’t hold a candle to the ones Romo has in the beginning.

As much as I like Dez. His current form is nowhere near the receiver TO was. Not even close

And Witten is a shell of his former self. Terry Glenn is a far better receiver than any of the guys behind Dez also.

I just looked and don't find Dez taking the blame, I've read it other places though. Dak was throwing a stop route while Dez was running to the back corner. I guess my memory was wrong that Dez took the blame, but the two were clearly not on the same page - that may or may not be on Prescott.

I don't even think it's a "stop route". I'm thinking it's more akin to the back shoulder throw Rodgers throws.

I was looking at video and if you get a chance, watch the first TD Dak throws to Dez that game. It's basically the same play, so I'm pretty sure that's what Dak was trying to reproduce.

Problem is, in the first case Dez turns back while Aqib is playing it differently. In the second case, Dak is paying no attention to Aqib or Dez's body language at all. He just straight up throws it.

Sure, I don't have a definitive answer on that play. But my point is that out of the four Pick Sixes that Dak had two of them hit his WR in the hards and a third is an open question.

That is a lot different than Chad Hutchinson drilling a CB between the numbers and then waiving as he takes it to the End Zone.

EDIT - I should have typed "do not have an answer".

When you use terms like "But let’s not pretend that Dak has a supporting cast far superior to Romo’s during their first couple of years in the league" than that means your trying to put them in the same category. Dak had an ALL PRO line that played together for years. It was FAR SUPERIOR and the running game was FAR SUPERIOR.

It wasn't a solid offensive line nor was our running game solid. Our OL looked decent because Romo was playing behind it, but even then he was getting sacked upper 30s a season regularly. Leonard Davis was an absolute bust when he came here. COlumbo was a journeyman and average. None of these guys sniffed careers of at most average outside playing with Romo.

How many times did Dak get sacked this past year? How good was the OL the second half of this past season? They were terrible.

Again, his supporting cast overall wasn’t far superior to Romo’s. Yeah he had a better OL and better running game. But the receivers for Romo were also far better than Dak’s. And it isn’t even really close with the receiving corps.

So yeah I stand by my statement that Dak’s supporting cast wasn’t far better than Romo’s. That 2007 team had 13 pro bowlers. 3 pro bowlers on the offensive line. Flozell Adams, gurode and Davis all made the pro bowl.

Unless you’re gonna argue that they only made the pro bowl because of Romo. Which would be laughable.

Marion barber also made the pro bowl that year. But i guess Romo is the reason he made it also?

I mean barber isn’t as good as Zeke. No doubt about it. But let’s not act like he was a scrub either.

Is this where you’re gonna use the “pro bowl is a popularity contest”. Which it is to an extent but bums don’t make the pro bowl either.

Dez bailed him out on a sideline route in the third on a second in one at 3:39, where Dak threw it right to Talib. Another in the fourth at 4:19, Dez bails him out from another sure INT he threw directly to Aqib.

And one of the p[ick 6s, Aqib basically was playing it the same exact way as he did these other times. And it was the same route Dez scored on in the first quarter at 5:50, but Dak throws a stupid pass without even taking into account Aqib, just like he was doing the above plays where Dez had to bail him out by basically grabbing Talib.

Dak is horrible throwing outside the hashes from the pocket and he clearly has trouble reading the whole field.

Pro bowlers are VOTED by fans, ALL PRO linemen are not.

Dak got sacked because he wouldn't get rid of the ball. And I think he was still way less then what Romo experienced regularly with these guys.

Dez is Dez again in Green Bay. Same for New England, Atlanta, New Orleans, and half a dozen other teams.

But here, he's below average work this QB. Terrible fit.

But you could go through and look at all of the other quarterbacks and they have the same issues. And Dak still had more of them than anyone else. He also had a fumble returned for a long TD that was solely on him.
Most pick sixes (with the exception of the sideline ones) are bad luck plays. You can deserve the interception, but usually don’t deserve to have it brought back. I remember Romo threw an interception to Bobby Carpenter years ago and Carpenter ended up weaving through at least half a dozen defenders like Le’veon Bell for a touchdown. I know that offensive guys don’t practice tackling but it was absurd and there was no way a QB deserved to have a pick six on his ledger for that.

Fans, and coaches and fellow players.

But you’re right. Gurode and Davis were bums who just got carried into the pro bowl.

You nailed it. People like to use revisionist history for their own agenda.

Tell me what Davis did in Arizona... Tell me about Gurode's career outside Romo...

At all costs...let Dez go...don't sign Martin RG or d-law as without a qualified franchise QB we are going NOWHERE !!!!! Cousin at least can pass when he's got some off-lineman injured can Dak?
I wish I could cuss right now lol

Are u crazy?!? U wanna cut the #1 receiver (with no replacement) risk losing Martin, and let the best DE on the team go for a 30 year QB who has been average at best for his entire career?!?!

Dak was always going to take time to develop, he was drafted to sit behind Romo. Does he need to take the next step next year? Obviously. But u have to have patience with a QB.

The funniest comment from Dak came after he threw it behind Dez on a short route and said, maybe he need to throw it at the helmet after the game.. He seemed to forget that he basically threw a pick 6 on a simple check-down to Zeke, throwing it way over his head right into the arms of the CB to, I think on the very next series. And it resulted in a pick 6.

The video I just posted, go to 3:39, watch the pass and Dez.. then go to 4:19 and watch Dez bail Dak out.. and then go to 5:50 and how Dez can bail him out this time.. Each time, it's the same tendency of Dak and each time, Aqib is getting closer and closer to the pick.. and he finally gets it at 5:50..

Dak just kept doing the same thing, over and over and over again.. No looks off, no paying attention to the CBs, under throwing and just plain bad anticipation..

And everybody wants to pick out one play of Dez's, when he's dealing with this type of anticipation consistently all game long..

But you could go through and look at all of the other quarterbacks and they have the same issues. And Dak still had more of them than anyone else. .

I think Pick Sixs are a side issue and way down on the list of ways a QB should be evaluated but just for kicks I googled the stats.

Dak has a pick six ration of .4% (4 in 949 career attempts), with half of those being balls that hit his WRs in the hands. If you google the numbers, that is a bit higher than average but its the same rate as Roethlisberger and Carson Palmer - even with half of them being balls you can't blame him for -
