Get Cousins at all costs!

More QBs like Cousins should hit the market

He is an average QB that would get 12-15m on the open market
WAS had to pay the premium to keep him with the tag because they had no other options

Cousins leveraged that issue into 45m over the last 2 years....good for him but WAS still didn't want to commit long-term at those prices

DAL should learn the lesson and offer Dak an extension after this season...... the earliest possible
Offer him 4/60m with 100% guaranteed with a 25m signing bonus....it removes a huge distraction and Dak gets that life changing money

By 2021 they can offer him another huge deal if he keeps improving

I wouldn’t offer Dak anything this season, unless he turns it around.

If he’s not performing at five games into the season, I’m giving Rush reps and then planning for the future.

No doubt, like I said, I think Kirk is over-rates but his skill level is gonna be in huge demand. The reason he’s not with the Skins is because he doesn’t want to be.

And the Skins ended up losing more with this Smith trade, including what many say was their best defenseive player and youngest elite prospect, as well as a third.

They surely wouldn’t have done that if Kirk wanted to stay.

Hey Jerry how about you go out and get Cousins and give us a Franchise QB who's got all the talent necessary to take this Team along with Zeke and our offline to the Superbowl! Without a quality QB teams go nowhere (unless they have the 2000 Ravens def) and waiting for Dak to become a Cousins might take forever or simply

Jerry probably won't so our troubles at QB will continue and continue and continue!!!

Cousins isn't a Franchise QB

the only thing that can be said about cousins with absolute certainty is that he will not be a cowboy.

You can spin stats how you want. Dak has a legitimate RG, all Pro OL and a bunch of talent when he first started and a league that didn’t know him yet.

He also has a record 4 pick sixes and set a record for no TDs for extended quarters in two years that Aikman and Romo never touched as well.

You are silly

Yeah because offering a Qb which you drafted as a backup millions and threw record pick 6s in his second year, Matt Schaub levels of mediocrity (Matt also had a good year), and wasn’t able to throw TD passes for quarters and 93 yard passing games against battered defenses like the Commanders, a QBR of 66 his second year, setting franchise records of abysmal QB play, is just not silly..

First off i like dak and he should get his 4 years to develop, if he doesnt improve, move on no LTC..I think you miss one point in what a lot of the haters are saying.. 2016 was awesome the first say 6-8 games of 17 he struggled some but still looked like 16 dak, the ;last 8 games not so much he looked like dear in the headlights , had happy feet, starting become way more inaccurate than normal, and was simply shell shocked after the ATL game..they are judging him on those games when the pressure was on the most to elevate his game in smith and zekes absence and instead he fell off a cliff.. I blame coaches for a lot of this especially the Green/Bell failures that created the hesitation Dak showed in trusting anything and his eyes were down and ready to run instead of up and moved with field vision..

I hope he clears his head and gets back to being dak and grows from this..

that meme above all that tells me is how much romo was really unappreciated as he was Undrafted FA with no expectations and now owns just about all the cowboys passing records, yet some of these same dak haters wanted romo gone as far back as 2008 and blamed him for all the 8-8 seasons etc.. Romo was great, maybe not selite but simply look at that thread about TO to Romo being special , those clips show Romo under pressure and the way he navigated the pocket and kept his eyes down field and than able to just put that ball on a dime, it was incredible..Aikman went 1st overall and Dak 4th round..they had more expectations and some more pressure.. IMO romo was one of the best to ever wear the star and being undrafted he nearly has twice the Tds and less INTs than most all cowboy greats but Aikman in particular..MO not even close to choker but many ripped and label him just that..remember romo didn't have the RG or the Oline which are now are indinity so thase win loss stats are slightly skewed in the comparison as Romo was asked to carry the team more..

Ill give Dak time and hopefully he comes around but he definitely fell off the last 8 games and that's what we are all remembering :(

He said after this coming season, no?

I am not going to argue that Dak was better than Romo early in their careers. It’s a fruitless argument to try and make.

But let’s not pretend that Dak has a supporting cast far superior to Romo’s during their first couple of years in the league.

We all know who Dak has had.

Romo had: Terrell Owens (3rd best WR in league history). Terry Glenn. A PRIME Jason Witten. He also had flozell Adams at LT. Andre gurode, Leonard Davis and Marc colombo. On the OL.

Not as good as our current OL. But a quality unit overall.

Romo wasn’t doing everything by himself his first couple years in the league..... he was later on when the talent around him faded. But the cowboys team in 2006/2007 were very talented.

Flozell Adams was arguably the only good OL. Davis was a bust and Columbo was a journeyman. Gurode couldn't even snap the ball properly and couldn't call out the plays, he was mentally dumb.

The first year Romo fully started, the OL was in it's first year together and Dak had all of his linemen with the exception of Martin, which was two years (Still more than the guys Romo was with) playing together a minimum of 3 years together. They were ALL PRO lineman before Dak even got here.

Just stop with this ridiculousness.

Dak even gets to work with Linehan as OC, while Romo was shackled with Garrett as a play-caller. By the time Dak got here, Callahan had already established the line and running game and when Garrett was here, they were looking to bring in Dan Reeves, because he had no experience calling running games and he absolutely sucked at it.

Just stick to the rookie argument and Dak needs time, because the rest is just utterly foolish.

He also has a record 4 pick sixes and set a record for no TDs for extended quarters in two years that Aikman and Romo never touched as well.

Two of those Pick Sixes hit the WR in the hands and the WR then volleyballed them into a DBs hands. Its a real stretch to blame Dak for that.

Also hasn't Dez said publicly that he ran the wrong route on the Denver pick six by Talib?

All Romo did his first two years in the League was hold a clipboard.

Dak was forced into a starter's role from his very first game due to injury. It seems the biggest mistake he made was being better than anyone expected as a rookie.

I don't think there was any point in the season that Dak of 2017, looked like 2016 Dak. Only two games, one could argue he played up to par, and those were the games with Chiefs who were already playing a really bad stretch of football and 49ers, who were a disaster until Jimmy ended up there.. And those games, on every level, the team was clicking.

In the first 8 games, the third quarter abysmal play already started to surface. He couldn't put the ball in the end zone against the Commanders. The Denver game when he had to rely on his arm was an awful display of Dak when he throws over thirty times a game.

Romo threw four picks in one half. Only other qb I saw pull that off was Nathan Peterman.
Also Romo in his second year was three years older than Dak.

And he proved he is capable of being a star QB in the league.... 2017 really happened

The start to 2018 really happened as well when Dak was really good

Then he lost his Offense.....Zeke was suspended and Tron was injured..... can you believe he suffered as the D got throttled without Lee and put us behind every game

Dak to the Future it is
