It always amazes me, that Dallas seems to be the only team, with the ineptitude to win games, with injuries.

Other teams go on playoff runs with backups all of the time. We seem to just continually walk in circles.

Foles went 5-1 (really 5-0) and won a super bowl. Meanwhile, we could barely function with Weeden, Moore and Cassel.
Oversimplified offensive scheme, poor situational coaching and an arrogant unwillingness to adjust in game (chaz green anyone?).

With a dysfunctional front office and puppetry coaching staff were totally dependant on our elite talent.

As a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, I hate to say this, but the Eagles truly deserved this today. They put Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett to shame today, assuming either has a shameful bone in their bodies. The Philadelphia Eagles had a variety of problems. They drew such a terrible hand including Chip Kelly shredding their team. That was a team that shouldn't even have been DREAMING about the playoffs 2 years ago much less beating the Patriots in the Super Bowl. The division was OURS for the taking for the next 5 years. Or, so it should have been. The ONE team that NONE of us could have dreamed to be where they are today got there and did what Garrett has thus proven unable to achieve. Much less with a backup QB. Put Jason Garrett in Doug Peterson's shoes, and i think we as Cowboys fans know the result. Think Garrett would have made the gutsy calls needed to beat New England that Peterson made? Nope! I don't. Think we even would have made the playoffs or gotten past the first round in the shoes that Philly had this year? I don't think so with Garrett. I heard a story once where Jerry has had a few times where he cried including a loss to Houston on the first day of the existence of that franchise. I sincerely and truly hope that he wound up crying watching what happened today. The truth can hurt at times, and this is one of them. Clearly, watching the Pats ripping into our legacy as a franchise taught Jerry NOTHING about winning. It changed NOTHING about him as I can tell. I hope that watching a team in our own division that makes it a point to torment us when they get a chance hoist the Lombardi today WILL change Jerry. If there was EVER a time to either move Garrett further into the hot seat if not shoved out after tonight, it's the fact that Philly just won the Super Bowl. The impossible happened today. Not to mention that they overcame incredible odds today to accomplish this feat. So, while I may receive a lot of hate for this, I don't care. I'm actually thankful that Philly won today. I'm thankful because MAYBE this is the Super Bowl that FORCES a change in Jerry's MO for the better. Maybe after watching this, Jerry will do EVERYTHING it takes to win the Super Bowl. Our division just became the first division in which everyone has won at least one Lombardi. And it came at a point in time when it SHOULDN'T have. Jerry, if you EVER want to see another Lombardi. If you want to finally break your trend of failure over the last 20+ years. Then eviscerate the entire coaching staff if we don't win the Super Bowl this up coming season. If we fail this season to win the Lombardi, then get a REAL coach finally that can overcome adversity.

You can either win when things get tough or you hide behind excuses.
"Our LT was hurt".
"Zeke was suspended".
"Lee missed games".
Pfft.
Every team has talent and every team has talented players get hurt.
Good coaching keeps the train moving.
Bad coaching finds something to blame.

And we have another 8-8 or 9-7 2018 season coming up with Garrett as coach, And if we miss the playoffs yet again, we have to wait for 2019 and a whole other off season to hope that Garrett gets fired. This is going to feel like an eternity for us Cowboys fans before we get a head coach and a front office who can put a consistent playoff, superbowl winning team together.

Patience friends, patience.

Bill Cowher's record

1992 -LOST to Buffalo Bills in AFC Divisional Game. (1 and done!)
1993 - LOST to Kansas City Chiefs in AFC Wild-Card Game. (1 and done again!)
1994 - LOST to San Diego Chargers in AFC Championship Game. (2 and done)
1995 - LOST to Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX. (Super Bowl LOOOSER!)
1996 - LOST to New England Patriots in AFC Divisional Game. (2 and done)
1997 - LOST to Denver Broncos in AFC Championship Game. (2 and done again)
So far he was 5-6 in the postseason.
1998 - Goes 7-9 and MISSES THE PLAYOFFS!
1999 - Goes 6-10 and MISSES THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN!!

2000 - Goes 9-7 and MISSES THE PLAYOFFS THREE YEARS IN A ROW!!!

So after 9 years Cowher had a losing record in the postseason, had no Super Bowl wins, and had missed the playoffs the last three years in a row. Wouldn't you be calling for for him to be fired at that point? Be honest.

2001 - LOST to New England Patriots in AFC Championship Game. (2 and done)
2002 - LOST to Tennessee Titans in AFC Divisional Game. (Still can't get to the big game!)
2003 - Goes 6-10 and MISSES THE PLAYOFFS!

OK, now after 12 YEARS Cowher had been to the Super Bowl only once and had LOST, was 7-8 in the postseason, and hadn't even gotten into the playoffs in 4 of the past 6 seasons. If you hadn't been ready to fire him after 9 years of failure, surely you were calling for his head after 12 years of failure.

2004 - Lost to New England Patriots in AFC Championship Game. (Here we go again! Fire him! He can't make it to the big game!)

And then finally in 2005

images2.jpeg

2006 - Goes 8-8 and retires.

Steelers fans and management were patient and after 14 years their patience was rewarded. Mr. Garrett has had only 7 full years as head coach, and he is a recent Coach of the Year. It took Bill Cowher 14 years to win a Super Bowl. Cowboys fans need to give Mr. Garrett at least 7 more years to do the same.
