For any of these players do you feel like it's really worth it?

Edmunds, Roquan, Derwin, Fitzpatrick?

Just imagine what a 1st and 2nd round pick could grab you if you traded for a established NFL player... You would get an all pro. You may have to spend a little money but you're getting a cream of the crop player.

I'm not saying im opposed to this trade but for me it seems a little too rich for any of them.

Why is that a Topic? Have i missed something?

Just a hypothetical.

And I was listening to the Cowboys draft show and Broadus feels like we want to move up to around pick 11 or 12 and it would cost a 2 & a 4 to do it.

The 2nd round really looks made for one of our needs WR,OG,LB.
Trade down is more appealing this year.
I'm not a trade down proponent normally but as it sets today that would be my preference.
Not trying to change the focus of your thread sorry

I'm not giving up a future #1 pick for anything other than a QB. That's the only position worth taking a chance on.

Sorry... I mean't pick 19. Not a future #1.

Swap 1s and trade a 2nd.

Nope. I would love to get one of those games players but that is way to much when we also have other needs as well.

Im against giving up draft resources.
none of the players in this draft are guarantees.
stay put...there will be a run,a player OVER drafted that will drop a good'n right into our laps.
and at 50,maybe we steal a falling Billy Price or Maurice Hurst(if our docs sign off).

Calvin Ridley,WR-Alabama@19.
Billy Price,OG-Ohio St@50.
not a bad haul at all.

The argument they were making is this.

If you are not going to spend big in FA to get a big name talent.

Than what if you go ahead and swing for the fences in the draft to get a big name talent.

If you are going to build through the draft, in order to get the top talent they argue you have to pay with picks instead of paying money in FA.

It is a decent argument to make so I understand where he is coming from with it.

With that said...I would rather hope that one of those players would fall a little more and you could get them by giving up a three and swapping first round picks instead of giving up a Two...however that comes back to that argument that if you are going to go cheap in FA are you going to go cheap in the draft with picks.

Again...just an argument.

My problem with that is if you skip Free Agency then every pick is super important and you're gutting your draft to trade up for a player who may be Demarcus Lawrence in 3 or 4 years or he may be Morris Claiborne.

Sometimes you have to make that gamble.

If not for us gambling on Tank...we would still be looking for that one pass rushing DE...and actually we are still looking for the other side and took a chance on Taco.

Another thing.

We didn't see the benefit of this draft pick for years.

We rely too heavily on rookies IMO and if they aren't ready then we don't really improve from year to year.

2014 & 2016 could've been way different had we not skipped Free Agency and had some defenders on the field of high quality..

The other problem is we couldn't have predicted the type of team we had in 14 and 16.

Regardless.. They have to find a way to improve and if they have a 12-4 or 13-3 year next year but we do it with the ball control method and still get nothing from our defense then it will be a huge failure by our front office because they knew exactly what needed to be done for almost 4 years now and they have done nothing but rely on the draft.

It's because they don't understand how to evaluate needs and how to form a blueprint that will take you to the super bowl.

Keep in mind I am not arguing for moving up.

Just stating that was the argument that Broaddus was making and whether you agree with that opinion or not...it is a good argument to be made when you are not spending in FA and only seeming to depend on your draft.

I also don't think it is an argument that should be used every year since they don't trade as much as they used to...but I do think it is a legit argument to make if there is a player they really like and they feel will help this team.

If we were going to trade, I too, am in favor of a Trade down this year. I don't believe that this is a very deep draft at the very top but I do think that there is a lot of depth in the middle and late rounds. One of the other things that really helps this year is the number of QBs that could go very early. This is going to push good players down the board IMO. Maybe 5 QBs in the first round, 4 in the top 10 and the other in the top 15. Trading up will be expensive IMO, because a lot of teams who may want to get a shot at one of these QBs are going to have to overpay for the trade up. That's not a good situation for us to be in, IMO. I'd rather trade down and take advantage of the strength of this draft or sit tight and let the draft come to us. I believe there will be a good player for us at 19. JMO

i enjoyed that draftshow
its sad reading all the negative **** constantly here
2 things
Dallas having 10 picks means they can and most likely will do some trading plus i do believe the draft being at at&t will influence Jerrys first pick to some degree
Roquan could fall into the teens with his medical unless its been cleared idk

either way Dallas wont pick 10 guys and only a handful will make the roster so package some and move up in the 2nd or 3rd move back in the 1st get those 2nd and 3rd round picks

Me personally.. I don't want to be aggressive in round 1.

I want to be as aggressive as possible in round 2. Round 2 there will be so many quality players with great value at that spot.

Trade down in round 1. Get more picks. And then get back into round 2 as many times as possible.
