Just keep in mind that he and his agent are still in contact with the Jets.

The cap rich, receiver starved Jets.
And very QB deficient Jets.

If I'm Hurns, I'd take less for a year to play here. He gets national exposure and a chance to play on a competitive team.

I'm not signing a long term deal for cheap though.

Maybe the Cowboys should stop guaranteeing roster spots before every new season? isn't the whole point of the whole "competition" we apparently have in our TC and part of our culture? If Williams wants to be number 2. Hes gotta beat out Hurns.

I agree on the "competition" part, but they essentially guaranteed him his role when they'd signed him to the contract.

And on a side note, Hurns would cost much more and has produced much less over the past two years, so there's that.

You mean he wont replace the 0 Touchdowns T-Will put up last year?

Honest question, is our quarterback currently a "selling point"?

I fully expect him to take the best money offer he can get, like they all do. And all signs for me point to the Jets being the team willing to pay him the most. They're so sad right now that they can't get top players to sign there, even for more money. But the midrange guys like this will gladly take it. Just ask McCown or Claiborne.

I expect Hurns will too.

Bruce Butler barely saw the field last year and scored 3, let's get him back before this guy.
Yeah, I doubt the brass wants a guy that calls out Twill and Dez for getting targeted more because of their contracts lol

just saw a report that said Hurns was going to meet with jets first but a snowstorm forced him to meet with dallas first instead. lets see if he ever makes it out of dallas.

He’ll be leaving Dallas. He’s in high demand. That 38 dollars of EBT money that Jerry is offering won’t be enough to keep him in Dallas

At least we have a starting caliber QB. I wouldn't say he is a selling point right now, but he will be good this year.

And we also have a top 5 oline and Zeke.

Hurns got paid already. And he's still young. Coming here on a two year deal for 4/5 per could be smart for him. If the team does well and if he does well, he would still have time to get that big deal. Especially if he plays like a legit #1.

I do too. He certainly didn't do himself any favors.

While I disagree with making his frustrations public, I can definitely see why he had them.

He was by far this team's most productive receiver given the few opportunities that he had. But no matter what he did, nothing changed in terms or playing time or the pecking order.

If I'm producing more than the other guys and getting less money, no credit, and no more opportunities, I'd be pissed too.

But hey, "Jason Garrett ladies and gentlemen!"

They can create cap space quickly if needed.

I do think he leaves without s contract as 10 teams have contacted him for visits.

This looks like more than a little speculation and wishful thinking. But please come back to me with this one if this is how things work out and I'll gladly admit to being wrong.

That's insane.

It comes down to a 2 year 16 mil dollar contract.
It's not that insane unless the injuries have made him a shell of his former self.

If we let him walk, I'm fine with it. However, when guys like Moncrief get a 9.6mil contract over 1 year, giving a 2 year 16 mil contract to a guy who at least put up good numbers 2 years ago isn't that farfetched. He is 26 years old.

There are some things going against Dez.

1. He won't play up to his contract with Dak and JAson Garrett not creating ways to get him the ball.

2. Letting him go would free up some cap space.

3. Dez has been complaining about how basic the offense is.

So as shocked as I would've been a week ago I think maybe the Cowboys might move on. They were obviously entertaining the idea of it by signing Watkins.

Dez is my favorite football player but I also think WR is a fools gold position and you can win without elite WR's. Maybe not Dallas coaches, which is a good thing if it gets us rid of Jason, but good coaches scheme guys open.

Agreed on the oline and Zeke.

But this may be Smiths last year if his back keeps giving him problems. We can release him after this year and it frees up about 5 mill. That would offset Fred and Martin. But we would have a big whole to fill.

That's why LT is probably a higher priority than LG in the draft. Unless the team feels comfortable with Smith playing a few more years.

Tyron smith has 0 chance of being released.
