He's competing to be the 3rd LB off the board with Evans.

I suppose you could include Landry in that if you consider him an OLB.

But the top two are pretty much unanimous. Stranger things have happened though. The best drafts are the ones with the huge curve balls that shake things up.

Before the combine, he was being discussed as a 2nd/3rd rounder. He lights up the combine and is now in the first round. That is the poster child for stay away.

Not really. It’s not like he wasn’t productive in college.

Glad we didn’t stay away from Demarcus Ware.

His tape was worse than Byrons
Combine was too good and he has production to match. Easily a 1st rounder.

Nah, he was a bottom 2nd-mid 3rd rounder prior to the combine off his tape. He has now cemented himself into a mid to bottom 2nd after his impressive combine. Happy for him, but not going to overreact and vault him into the 1st, much less the mid 1st.

Wouldnt mind him as our 2nd pick, would LOVE him in the 3rd.

So he's Demarcus Ware now? Really? o_O

He's a good cover linebacker. We need a run-stopper. Why? Because the Cowboys run a ball control offense. For that to succeed, the Cowboys have to control the run game of the opposition. It's complimentary football. LVE is decent in coverage, yes, but he lacks the explosion to the ball that Rashaan Evans has in spades. And it's not like Rashaan is a liability in coverage; he just wasn't asked to do it alot...Saban found better ways to make use of his athleticism.

You have to take into account that he isn’t through developing.

I don’t want the best player right now. I want the guy that’s the best a few years from now.

A productive linebacker with measurables like that with a frame that can easily hold 15 more pounds... Come on.. This guy could be unreal.

type of player that moved up quite a bit............and could be a surprise top 15 to shake up the draft, In this draft there might be a couple more big surprises.

•Earlier in the week, the Steelers signed linebacker Jon Bostic to a two-year deal to potentially replace Ryan Shazier, who is recovering from a devastating injury in 2017. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, however, tweets the former Colts linebacker is merely just a seat warmer for whomever the team drafts in the first two rounds. One of those players who could be available is Boise State’s Leighton Vander Esch, who Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller projected to Pittsburgh in his latest mock draft. On Vander Esch, Miller writes: “Boise State’s Leighton Vander Esch is a 6’4″, 256-pound linebacker with good speed (4.65 in the 40) who possesses the ability to take on tailbacks in run support, the speed to pursue on the edge and the instincts to cover pass-catchers over the middle.”
