Witten insulted by Dez' comments?

What would the reaction around here be if it was Witten who got cut instead of Dez? Its not like there aren't good reasons for the organization to stand up to Witten and tell him its time to hang them up.
Witten's day will come.
This year, he counts 3.4 mil vs the cap...or one of the lowest of current starting TEs.

When he made that "C" comment I don't think he realized how reckless that comment was and he hasn't tried clarifying that. Like honestly.....do I see Tyrone Crawford, or Dan Bailey saying something to the coaches about Dez? Witten.....possibly but even then.....they didn't strike me as guys who hated each other. Even with Dak. I think Dez was more hurt that he didn't have a C on his jersey than he was mad at those guys. Just my belief.
I agree. If you watch the interview they ask him why he thinks he never had a C on his jersey first and then follow up with which players contributed to his release. You can clearly tell he was bothered by never having been labeled a captain. That said I don't see witten or Bailey as guys who would be petty like that to run to Garrett about Dez.

Because Witten is going to admit it if he did? lol. Why isn't it ok for Dez to throw teammates under the bus? He is just mirroring what his head coach does throwing his players under the bus. Monkey see monkey do. You know.
I thought Dez got rid of his monkey?

Even Romo never publicly went after Garrett directly but you could always tell that he soured on him.

Dez has basically left the organization with the same feelings.

While I think Dez is an emotional guy I do Romo as an extremely more rationale guy and both came to the same conclusion about Jason Garrett.
Romo is a classy guy but I really wish he would've done it. I really wish he would've opened up about how bad things were offensively and how he had to bail the coaches out.

C’s know their position from top to bottom. C’s don’t show up to meetings, buses and planes on their time. C’s don’t go to work on talent alone, C’s put in the work every day.

There’s plenty of I, but no C in Dez. Sorry Dezbians, he was getting older and less productive. It was time to move on. Sorry the timing didn’t jive with all the 6-pack, armchair GM’s out there. You’ll live.
LOL....what does this have to do with what we are discussing? You don't have to remind everyone that Dez is gone and why he's gone. I Think we all know lol.

If Witten wasn't consulted then either Dez was just wrong about the Captains being involved in his departure or it was Dak.

He called Garrett on Friday. The other guy he called was Dak. So my guess is it was probably Dak.

Who knows how Dak and Dez actually interacted behind the scenes, but at least publically Dak was always very supportive and complimentary of Dez. Dez is only hurting himself by throwing people under the bus. And, of course, since he didn't single out anyone in particular, just the captans, he is also throwing revered players like Witten and Lee under the bus. Even fans who think Witten should retire, or that Lee's health is too spotty recognize the leadership and example of those guys.

TO already said this and repeated it in his last interview on the matter.

Him, Crayton, WIlliams and Sherman went to Garrett and had a CLOSED door meeting about the offense and the news was leaked basically immediately.

Funny how we've gone full circle and another group of WR's have come to the same conclusion and Garrett just can't take the criticism.

Has any other team captain said they feel insulted by the comments?

What's comical is how these defenders keep saying employees need to keep things "in-house" not realizing that they are the ones keeping it in-house, but Garrett being the weasel he is, leaks the information anonymously. TO only blew up after Werder and guys were taking these issues publicly and they kept putting TO on the spot.

Look at Dez, when did he ever bash a coach directly? When did he ever go to the media to call-out coaches..

So it's Garrett that's the snake...

Makes sense.. Garrett has never got the backlash from the local media that he deserves. He's been anonymously playing politics behind the scene and it's avoided him a lot of criticism.

Right. And I don't think any of them did. Did they come to Dez's defense though? Probably not. And that's what he's probably upset about.

Witten didn't even say it. He merely said he spent more time working with Dez than with other people, was surprised by the comments, and that they had always had a close relationship. The insult part was media spin to catch the eye of the public.

I find it funny how some of you are missing what actually happened when its right in front of you. Dez talked to Garrett. Garrett doesn't like confrontation and always always will blame someone else. I would bet a lot on Garrett telling Dez it was Dak and Witten or the guys with the "C'" just to pass the buck and not have to deal with it. Garrett is as sleazy and as slippery as it gets. Has been a long time, and it all started with Wade. Garrett will do ANYTHING to protect himself. Anything. Including winning a meaningless game and costing us draft position, just so he doesn't have another 8-8 on his record as a coach.

Garrett is the REAL PROBLEM here folks. Until this organization cleanses themselves of this perennial loser and cancer, nothing will change. RKG stands for Don't stand against me or you will be standing alone. Get ready for Bease to be gone next.

Dude stop, I hate the decision too, but Dez isn’t gone because he said something about the offense. We don’t even know if it was Garrett. What we do know is Stephen Jones made his position known, just as he did with T.O
