Witten insulted by Dez' comments?

Here’s some speculation on it. Dez, love him or not, is just full of crap, saying something foolish without one ounce of proof. Does anyone think players had anything to do with Dez’s release? Idiots!
This was a front office/coaching decision. Players are not involved in roster decisions. Dez was upset, blaming anyone after Jerry said it was a decision made by several people. Can we please move on!
The big clue in all of this is Stephen Jones himself saying they will sit down with Dez. He also was critical of him being a distractions.

Because he beat up is own mom?

Speculation..No one knows the details of what led to her calling the authorities. I can speculate that his mom was doing something she had no business doing & he was trying to get through to her & threw his cap & it hit her. She was probably upset with him interfering with her activities & called the authorities & said he put hands on her. Just speculation.

That's great for your Grandfather. Sounds like a wonderful man. I thought we were talking about Dez Bryant.

Thanks. We are/were talking about Dez Bryant. You said something to the effect of him not being able to what many may say speak well. My point is just because someone might not be well versed in the King’s English doesn’t stop them from being a great bf or spouse.

Dez is acting like a buffoon. Life happens Dez,deal with it like an adult and move on.

i think Dez was probably referring to Dak
Why do you say that? Dak already basically said the same thing as Witten just did that that he had no prior knowledge nor did he have any input on the decision to cut Dez.

This is more likely Dez just being Dez blaming others

Given TO's history of not getting along with people at his previous stops, just maybe TO had something to do with it himself.
He didn't get along with players cuz he would call them out. Ala Michael Jordan, Kobe. They were ***holes, but they wanted to win and be the best. I'll never knock a man for being competitive and wanting to win. Look at what T.O. had to work with he had reasons to call people out. He balled in the super bowl with a broken leg. That man will always get my respect.

So San Francisco, Philly, Dallas, Cincinatti, Baltimore, and the rest of the NFL were wrong, and TO was just wronged?

TO was scum.

This was pretty much known that T.O. was the leader of the receivers that caused an uproar that Romo was excluding them from private workouts he was having with Witten.
I did read that romo had private work outs with witten. But they weren't on team time. Him and witten were best friends. So their "private workouts" could have just been friends tossing the pigskin. Based on T.O's history he wasn't necessarily the best teammate to have around. Though be did defend romo in the Media. I highly doubt romo would want to run one of his best receivers out of town. Especially for the color of his skin like some folks on here are insinuating.

Publically calling players out is neither the way to win friends, or earn the respect of teammates and coaches. And lets not forget that the mere fact he called people out doesn't mean he was always right.

And what about his refusing to even talk to teammates in Philly? What about calling his QB gay in SF? Is that a guy you really think is doing things in a way that helps the team get better? It's acting out and then pouting at the reaction.

Bottom line is, if he can't find a constructive way to help things improve, and he is creating dissension and turmoil, then he bears blame when things don't work out.

3 yds and a cloud of dust, but at least he can still catch!!!

George Dunham of The Ticket said he was at an event this weekend that Jason Witten attended.

Witten was asked about Dez' comments about the "Garrett guys" and "The C's" being behind his release. Witten said he knew nothing about the coming release and that he'd never been asked his opinion about it once about it by anyone within the Cowboys organization.

He also said he spent more time working with and hanging around with Dez than anyone he ever had, and these comments were completely out of left field. He said they've always had a close relationship.

I give Dez a pass to some degree because I know he was hurt and emotional. That's natural. But he never should have done an interview so soon while he was amped up, and he shouldn't be throwing his teammates under the bus unless he knows for sure what happened.

The only guys that wear the "C" are Dak, Witten, Crawford, Scandrick, Lee, and Bailey.

In fairness, Cowboy coaches usually consult with their captains before making personnel moves. Its odd to me that coaches didn't once go to offensive captain with longest tenure to get his input on Dez. really odd.

you're right. these guys are lying.

I respect T.O. he called them out and even fought McNabb and Hugh Douglas. I will side with a man who instead of being a conniving female and talking about them behind their back, approached and let them know whats up. He is a first ballot hall of famer and his production with average QB play makes him even better in my book.

And who goes to work to make friends. My job is salary and bonuses earned by hitting production numbers. I'm not here for friends I'm here to succeed and make money.

True that! Dez never should have had the interview. Should have waited and let things soak in a bit.

I assume your realize there are levels in between calling people out and being a conniving female talking behind people's back.

Smart people who promote improvement in the organization find a reasonable level in between. There is no benefit to being on either extreme. TO chose extremes, and it cost him. And frankly, if he was surprised that it cost him in Dallas after it had cost him at previous stops, that further suggests he didn't have a clue.

As for who goes to work to make friends ....all I can do is laugh at that. Do you not realize football is a TEAM sport that requires cooperation and coordination of the plays such that they can work together as one cohesive unit, and that success requires getting along with and building up teammates? It's not tennis or golf where its all about the individual.

But you may have hit the nail on the head. It may just be that TO only cared about himself and didn't care if he undermined what the team was trying to accomplish. That, again, puts blame on TO.
