Would this Staff play the better player if it meant Rush?

Aikman and Steve Walsh battled it out in camp, and nobody knew who was better at that time.

not a chance Early on but midseason if hes till playing like that 4 game stretch of last seasons nightmare, im betting the coaches start to pull dak in the third qtrs. and see what they have in rush...

My prediction this doesn't happen, those 4 games were the worst hes ever played and we all know the real reasons why..the first half of the season he was playing well enough to start and really some of the final games he wasn't bad either especially washing ton game where he finally had the starting oline back and zeke behind him..i doubt Dak will play bad all year to appoint where Rush would be the better option..

It's the staffs job to put the best competitive product on the field. I for one do not care of whom this product is comprised of, only that they give us the best chance to win. I can move on from Dak as easily as I moved on from Dez. The hardest thing that this fan has had to move on from.... was our winning ways:(

They essentially have nothing invested in either one of them. The best should start.

But since they've tried to accommodate Dak's limitations in every way possible, you know what they'll do.

If comes out and is stinking it up, and the coaching staff wants to be stubborn. Sure i wouldn't mind seeing him go down so that the next man can get his chance.

He can't get mad either, he did the same to Romo

When I say, "go down", I mean injured.

Dak didn't do anything to Romo.

No one ever gets more love on a team than the backup QB.

I think there are only a couple scenarios in which Dak is not the starter this coming season:

1. He gets injured.

2. Blowouts

3. The coaching staff sees enough to know that Dak is not going to be our starting QB into the future.

Nothing good will come from pulling Dak for a game or several games, putting in Rush, having Rush suck, and then going back to Dak. If you put Rush in as the starter you have to stick with him through all the good and bad that will come with it. Similar to when we benched Bledsoe and put in Romo.

Depends on how the offense as a whole produces. Because unless it's running smooth I highly doubt Rush could run the offense as a starter on a consistent basis.
Prescott we know is capable. So unless Dak gets injured, he's getting all of the 1st team reps and rightfully so.

Clearly the OP's agenda is to bash Prescott, so unless you answer with "Rush is better and should start over Prescott" you would be wrong in the eyes of the Dakbashtic boys.

His leash will be quite long. If it's week 9 and he still looks like the guy from pt from last year, then it wouldn't shock me to see Rush in a few games to close out the year(no playoffs).

I was a believer in Dak that season. Yup, I supported him. Risen was the only one who saw right through him

Now I understand, the throws that he missed last season. A HS QB could make those

And Romo threw plenty of ill timed ints but I guess we're just gonna forget about that. Yea he did get worse, and drastically worse after a few games of getting destroyed by opposing dlines. But we all should have expected that, I mean what quarterback hasn't gone down a degree after defenses have a full season of tape and coaches don't change anything.

The change can only happen in the regular season and only if Garrett job is truly on the line.

What worried me most about Dak was that he was missing some very easy passes and trying to force other ones. Hopefully we see some improvement with Dez gone as he won't have to try and force passes his way, Smith being healthy, and Zeke not being suspended (yet). I don't like the fact that everything has to be perfect for the QB to play well, but as long as we win, I don't see any reason to make a change.

Where were all the Dak haters when we were 13-3? Our team plays terrible across the board and now he's terrible. Not saying he is 2016 or 2017 version, but Romo just became a starter in his 2nd or 3rd year..let alone he didn't come into his prime self until a year or two after that. Just saying yall should be a lil patient.
Romo with all his warts showed the splash plays and while some of his early plays were risky he was not risk adverse. Dak is 100% risk adverse. There is pluses and minuses to each type and ideally you want a QB that is somewhere in the middle. IF you are going have bus driver at QB you better have defense that balls out, see Seattle Legion of Boom with Russell Wilson at QB. As their defense in seattle aged and became average they have had put more on Wilson to win games, right now Wilson is becoming a very good passer because he has had to and has become less risk adverse.

That's not true. Dak throwing into tight windows and going deep on occasion proves it's not 100 percent like you claim.
