This year I am worried about our pick

Last year we were all worried that we would take that bum safety from A&M in round one

Dallas media has been lost on our draft plans for a few years now

it’s been a few years since I was worried about who we picked. I haven’t always agreed with who we’ve picked each year but there was a good argument for the pick.
This year I’m worried we could really blow it.
With the 1st pick, I'm not. Ever since Mo, I think they have done a solid job in the 1st. Don't know that we will get a superstar, but I'm sure we will get a consistent player for 5 years and not a complete bust. That's all you can really hope for in the draft. It's a total crapshoot.

I'm okay with the players "TAKEN" as long as they have a particular set of skills, skills that would make them a nightmare for the opposition:thumbup:

Sometimes we get too focused on the destination (Superbowl) where we don't enjoy the journey. I think the Cowboys must stay focused on playing good entertaining football during the season rather than worrying about the SB. I think the Cowboys have and will have elements in place to have a good journey whether make it or win the SB or not.

dont think they'll blow it.
I just dont remember when they had so many directions they could go in the 1st...
WR
LB
OG
DT
DE
OT
this pick is wide open.
and its possible Vea,Ridley,Moore,LVE are off the board before 19.
maybe its Evans then....or Landry....or Daniels.
also a chance Darth Vea is there....waiting.

I think your confidence is misplaced my friend

We've been doing "good" in rd 1 recently because we've been taking OL, and OL, and more OL which is a safer pick even for idiots in our FO

I have little doubt we go LVE or Bryan in rd 1 who will rapidly develop into busts

They’ve done well for the last few years
I’m worried about looking at need over talent this year
Hope is a wasted worry

We could use a LB
We could use a WR
We Could use a Dlineman
We could use a OG
We could use a S

Although we don't have to have the following players...in this day of passing a team could always use a good...
CB or DE

He may not get much playing time but sooner or later someone will have to replace Witten so put TE as a distant possibility.

I think we can rule out RB, K, P and with this teams Mentality QB (at least in the first).

We might draft someone that an individual does not like but if they can help this team, it is going to be hard to really screw it up since we need so much.

With that said...IMO Taking a kid with character issues or other issues is a no no for me in the first...Arden Key for example.
If we took him...I would have to say we screwed up.

Zeke has been good. Jones, even though I'm not a fan, hasn't been a complete bust. Way to early on Taco. Dez was good. Overall, I think they have been solid minus Mo.

Yes prime candidate for round 2.
Sounds about right. Maybe we get Gregory out before he goes into the program. A WR with potential to be a first rounder but made a simple mistake. Promises he will be clean. Only to fail 7 more tests. And he is lying about his failed one, says he smoked weeks before. The tolerances for NFL nanos on weed are so that if a player hasn’t smoked in a few days to a week they will be clean.

That's what I've been saying all off season, arguing about whether or not to take an OG or DL or S or DL is sort of silly. because any of those positions and the Cowboys can use them.

But I think they've learned their lesson with Gregory, sort of like before the Randy Moss draft, they will shy away from any player with off the field issues...

We will get a very good player.
It will only be blown in eyes of fans, as they will not pick a player that person wants.

will I be disappointed if they pick a Wr or OL over a DT or LB, yes. But I will pull for that pick no matter what to help our team.
But I will look at the entire draft too, not just the 1st round pick.

We haven't really blown a first-round pick since 2012 when we selected Claiborne ... and the previous two were Bryant and Tyron Smith, so we've gotten five Pro Bowlers and two players the jury is still out on (Byron Jones, Charlton) in the last eight drafts. Even Claiborne came on after injuries helped sidetrack him, although he's still a blown pick.

There are too many fans who think they know what the best choice is for the team or how certain players are going to turn out. If you ignore all that and just wait to see, you'll have a much more peaceful draft experience.
