This year I am worried about our pick

Zeke has been good. Jones, even though I'm not a fan, hasn't been a complete bust. Way to early on Taco. Dez was good. Overall, I think they have been solid minus Mo.

actually Mo was a good pick at the time, it just did not pan out like they wanted, and as many fans over dramatize it 6 years later.

We haven't really blown a first-round pick since 2012 when we selected Claiborne .

At the time he was drafted, Claiborne was consistently rated one of the top corners available. Didn't have injury issues in college. Other than trading what they did for him, it was a good draft.

My definition of a blown pick is taking a player that had issues (Gregory) or was a project player who didn't ever develop, etc. No way the Cowboys could have known Claiborne would be constantly injured...

Sounds about right. Maybe we get Gregory out before he goes into the program. A WR with potential to be a first rounder but made a simple mistake. Promises he will be clean. Only to fail 7 more tests. And he is lying about his failed one, says he smoked weeks before. The tolerances for NFL nanos on weed are so that if a player hasn’t smoked in a few days to a week they will be clean.

He did not fail, you all need to get your facts straight before posting off at the keyboard...it was a diluted sample...meaning they can't tell one way or another.

Someone is going to fall down to 19. If the Cowboys are patient, they should get a player who can help them. If they reach for need, this draft will go south real fast. I think this draft is not full of stars but there are a lot of solid picks. That means they can stay with their board they can gt several player who can help build the cor of this tam for the next few years.

No he did not fail. It was a diluted sample. Said he will address it with teams before the draft. Said he was over hydrated.
True or not who knows. But it was NOT a failed test.
Lmao. Over hydrated. That and credit card fraud.

Welcome to the Cowboys.

Cowboys haven't taken an OL guy in the first since 2014...

Ok let me rephrase

The only great ones recently have been OL

Byron Jones: not a fan. Bust at safety. Who knows what at CB

Zeke: great pick but at 4 was hard to miss

Taco: jury is out

Point was, picking a non OL in mid/late rd 1 I'm not confident at all in this FO. Practically all their 'success' has been with OL

They're about due for it

I hope Jerry hasn't started hitting the bottle already, and when he does, take it away or sit him in the corner with it. Heck tie him up if you have to. Send him on a food run, make him pay that $90 for his own pizza.

After the Gregory debacle, Cowboys can't afford even the chance...

No they can't and I do not want them to draft him. I was just stating what was reported. Nothing has came out since, that I seen about a positive test. Only it was diluted.

This year I’m worried we could really blow it.

That applies to every team, every year. If you aren't worried, you aren't doing it right. That anxiety is what makes the draft so much fun. Well, that and the fact that no matter how much you blow it, or hit a home run on draft night - you have no clue how you actually did for a season or two.

Lmao. Over hydrated. That and credit card fraud.

Welcome to the Cowboys.

I an only stating what was reported. laugh all you want.
I am not defending him, nor do I want us to draft him. Stay away from him actually.

"With the 50th pick the Cowboys select Antonio Callaway WR-Florida"

A diluted sample is treated as a positive. Also...

He was suspended from team activities during the spring semester in 2016 after a woman accused him of sexual assault. Callaway was found not responsible at a hearing last August and placed back on the team.

Callaway was one of nine Florida players who allegedly used stolen credit card information to fund bookstore accounts this past fall.

He was cited for marijuana possession in May last year and pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphernalia.

it’s been a few years since I was worried about who we picked. I haven’t always agreed with who we’ve picked each year but there was a good argument for the pick.
This year I’m worried we could really blow it.
Unless someone unexpected slips, there simply aren't any blue chippers at 19. That's why you're worried, and deservedly so.

You do not have to try to convince me, I stated several times I do not want us to draft him.
But if you want to spend your time trying to preach to the choir, go ahead.

I know. And understand. But the NFL will treat it as a fail.

I don't agree with your definition. If a first-rounder doesn't prove worthy of receiving a second contract with the team that drafted him, then it's a blown pick IMO. To build a team through the draft, you can't afford to have first-round picks turn out like Claiborne did.

Nope. Agreed we don’t want him. Which means we will draft him. Lol
