Total non-issue. Everyone was an idiot in high school who said things that they wouldn't when they mature. The only difference between now and when I was in high school (other than the horse and buggy transportation mode) is that Twitter compiles a digital record of the immaturity.

Yet you talk all the time how Dak isn't accurate. And you want this guy?

Yes.

I get the college accuracy issues but I would take him. Probably a bad move for us but i'm not sold enough on Dak to pass on a talent like Allen.

Also, Dak's accuracy isn't a huge issue for me. It's his ability to get the X & Z the ball and throw with anticipation.

Seriously, I would be completely unable to find a job if half the stupid stuff I said in high school was public record.

If he's on the board @ 19 I take him or try to trade down with some who wants him.

I'm sorry, I know it's not the best move for the current roster, but he's talented and he plays the most important position in football.

He's going to be a big bust. 56% completion percentage in college.

Trade the 19th pick............. don't use it to pick Allen.

Is it really that big of a deal? Really?

He was a 15 year old when he posted that. Surely he's matured. Surely.

Gareon Conley had rape allegations against him last year and still made it in round 1.

Surely some stupid words by a guys 14 or 15 year old self is forgivable.
These aren't allegations.....but I think with the climate we are in right now with sports and even with this country? Terrible timing. It's like hitting a woman in the #ME TOO movement.

Just in video of Josh Allen!

Adult language in video

There was no internet when I was in high school, but if there was I am sure I would of said some stupid stuff on it.

I completely agree. I come from an area where it was 98% white had three black kids in high school all in different grades so I wasn't close to them. I was a huge 2pac fan and people made fun of me for it. I never knew anything but the dictionary term of racism. My grandfather was a minor so to us everyone was black skinned and only judged on work ethic. I know that sounds odd but it's true.

I really have no sympathy for these guys. Message boards, social media, etc. give people a pass to say stupid things. because they are hiding behind a keyboard and usually don't put a name to their opinions so they are allowed to be reckless. 15 or not....he KNEW better. He just didn't care. Should he be killed for that? Probably not. But many people in this country pay for their mistakes long past 22 or 23....if he has to pay a price for his actions such as draft stock? So be it. But those tweets are very offensive. You can't use the age excuse because if he's old enough to use those words then he's old enough to know the effects of those words. This isn't stealing a piece of candy at a grocery store.

He committed no crime. He has nothing to "pay" for. End of story. Your contention 8th-9th graders know the effects of their words and how they will play out 5 years later to the hypersensitive larger society is ludicrous.

Racism isn't a crime....so does that mean you shouldn't have to pay for it? Not relating that to this situation just asking a question. And if Josh Allen was 15 in the 8th grade than he may be a bigger idiot than we though. But somehow...he was smart enough to get on Twitter and smart enough to click send somehow.

Who said anything about sympathy? I am just saying who gives a crap what a 15 year old kid said?

Most people have said things they regret when they were young, immature and don't have a filter.

I would be more interested in his current character, how he is in the locker room and what he teammates think of him.

Teams didn't "just discover" Josh Allen's Twitter feed 24 hrs before the draft. I'll guarantee you this has been known for months.

This is a tactical leak by some team to apply last-minute public pressure and hopefully drop Allen to them. It's not a high-odds bet, but if you think Allen is a franchise QB, then I guess you'll do just about anything to get him.

I'm the one saying I don't have any sympathy. Didn't imply you did or didn't. Most people say things they regret when they were young and immature and they also pay or those mistakes. I don't expect this situation to be any different. Sometimes it hits you 10 or 20 years down the road. There's not a timetable for when you pay for your mistakes sadly.

Yeah I believe this is probably the case....but man if I'm a player and a team does that to me? I wouldn't even want to play for them. And if you DO drop....and a team takes you...you automatically believe that is the team that leaked the information. These teams will stoop to low levels to get guys in.

Racism is racism IMO
Not everybody "grows up" in this context
If you excuse it you only define yourself

You have to be very careful when you start limiting speech and insisting on consequences for things you don't feel are appropriate. ..........especially when you are talking about kids. Do you want to live in a society that forgives and grants second chances or one where our words are held against us forever.

I pray for this kid your right. He is a good kid. If you watch Shannon sharpe and the nfl network this morning you would think he committed war crimes or something at age 15!!!!! You all seen this crap this morning?
I think people who aren't apart of the offended group always can easily excuse things that don't affect them. I agree he was young but I also believe when it's not your group in a situation folks too often on some get over it stuff. I even notice that about myself so it's not just towards you. For example when it's women's issues at times I've been dismissive but I'm not a woman so I can't have the same understanding on some things they do. That's why I try to remember that when I want to act like you on things that don't affect me.
