Gallop looks like a faster Antonio Bryant to me

I was actually a big fan of Antonio. He was in Bill's Dog house and would've been a pro bowler had we not traded for Terry Glenn. He ended up having a pro bowl year with the Bucs though. It's too bad he had that knee injury.
What are your thoughts on him?
 
I thought he had his 1,000 season with the 49ers. Galloway was sent to the bucs for washed up Keyshawn Johnson.

That's even better. I know for a fact he had 1200 with the Bucs. I'll never forget the shoot out he had with Steve Smith Sr on Monday night football. 200 yards. He would've been a star if Parcells wouldn't have traded for Terry Glenn. I was Huuuuuge Antonio Bryant fan. My Brother and cousin teased me when he got traded.

He was a beast. That happens a bunch in sports. if a coach doesn't believe in you and limits your touches, you wont shine. I will say this, Terry Glenn rejuvenated his career here and did it in his 30s. its rare for a guy to shine in there 30s especially deep threats.
The crazy thing about Antonio, he ran a 4.7 and only had a 33 inch vertical.

Looked it up, your memory is better than mine. Browns he had 1009, 733 with 49ers and then 1248 with Bucs. Probably could have had a better career if he could have stayed in one system.

Yup, lets be honest. People hold you personality against you. If they don't like it and they're in charge, you can have a bad career in any profession. I've dealt with it at different jobs. If Parcells would've gotten signed a year later, Bryant would've been our number 1 for years because he would've broken out by the time Bill came. Then he went to the Browns who drafted Braylon Edwards in the top 10. He finally went to a team with really no expectations. They just wanted to win and he got the chance because he was the best. They allowed him to reach whats left of his ceiling. Coaches and QBS have a lot to do with a receivers success.
 
As far as Gallop, I like his quickness and route running. LOOK at these players. Chad Johnson ran 4.57. A Brown ran 4.56. AJ Green ran 4.50. Chad got deep with his quickness and route running. Gallop is faster than all of them and if he drops 5 pounds, he could be even more explosive.
I hope he develops fast and consumes the playbook.
 
A very nice route runner, I didn't care for his tape against Bama but the WR coach will work with him.
 
I hope he's the cure for what ails us in the pass attack,,,I do know his mannerisms would make me feel a bit wiggy if say?,, he was an across town cab fare out clubbing

Antonio Bryant threw a practice jersey in Parcells face. Parcells kept him around for a bit after that.
Also, I remember he had a great game against the Commanders. We were getting blown out but he was
acting a fool running up and down the sidelines after a score. There was a game where he cried like a baby
over a bruise.

He had talent. Even managed to carve out a career. But he could have he a better one if he had matured faster.
 
Watching him in his bowl game in the loss to Marshall, he impressed me with his hands and with his footwork along the sidelines. Speed-wise, not so much. In fact, they lost arguably because he didn't have the 5th gear to catch up to what would have been the game-winning TD. My take is that I'm somewhere between liking and loving the pick, and that mirrors what I think of his talent... not just good but very good in all of the WR traits, but exceptional in none.

I generally agree but I like it that he looks like a hard worker who has succeeded by work, effort, and technique versus out talenting people. He seems more sudden and quick than fast or it’s just his route running not sure. His top gear isn’t blazing but he appears to get there instantly.
He runs like a maniac with the ball in his hands and won’t relent without a fight. Catches with his hands. Good pick for us.
 
Gallup will help us be more "Dak friendly". His route running has been mentioned, for Dak who likes the short to intermediate routes that means he will be where he's supposed to be and has the ability to get open in that range. He's also a leaper with good hands that can potentially win jump balls against < 6' DBs.
 
I watched some film and to me I am not seeing any of what is being said about him. when I see him block, he doesn't engage his man that well and sorta stands there being more in the way than he is blocking. On his routes I see alot of loafing and rounded turns. I didn't see one example where he plants his foot and makes a sharp turn on any route.

Honestly, if he is consideted a good route runner then the bar has been lowered allot. To me he appears lazy and not aggressive. Cole Beasley runs sharp routes in case you need to see what that looks like.

I hope he gets it and learns what it takes to be a pro because if not, he will not be open much at all and will be ineffective.
