Hear me out...I said the era not the players. I totally blame the lack of playoff success on the FO and bad coaching Not the players. But we didn't win a thing. Now with new players a new energy and focus., Garrett and the coaching staff should be on notice, win or get out. Plus I enjoy watching a young team mature and grow into winners. To many times Dallas has taken a punch and laid down. I'm excited to see what this team can do when adversity hits.

Are you serious? I’m nervous as hell.
With Romo/Witten/Dez it was not for lack of talent that Dallas didn’t win, it was terrible luck and terrible decisions by the FO that held us back.

The talent is gone now, but the FO and coaching remain. I’m hopeful about Dak et al, but the hope with the previous generation was that they would succeed despite the FO. They didn’t, and even though the FO seems to have gotten its **** together, I’m not convinced the kids are good enough to win just yet...

Witten has been around since I could consciously care about football in a way that I would recognize the players. Everything feels new and exciting now. I’m not sure if I’m happy per se but it just makes everything interesting. 16 years is a long time

This thread is spot on. I am so thrilled. I couldn't wait for the 8-8 falling short mediocre era to be over. Might not have been the players' fault, but that is what they represented. This is a rebuilding year lets hope the wheels don't fall off. But want to see garrett linehan marinelli gone after this season. Clean slate for the future.

i have zero problem saying that. I loathe this FO for wasting their talent, but nothing to do. I just hope the young guys see a turn around or walk when their time comes.

I wont even have a problem if in a few years draftees say no to the call. I wont blame them. THis FO is doing very little to show them they can be champs why should talent come here?

Upset that Garrett / Dak were unltimately chosen over Romo , Dez , Witten.

Health force Tony out, dont blame Dak for stepping up, All the people who go to stats should have been in love with Dak and his rookie season. his second year wasnt as bad as what the coaches did to them. stats dont tell the story and people only like them when they agree with them. Dak is the future no reason for him to sit.

I agree with your opinion, just throwing in my extended view. NO CHARGE

Its the Jone's era thats the issue scaring away three great coaches until they got a coach as their puppet.

I don’t care Romo should have been given his last chance in 2016 when he was healthy. I’ll never know what could’ve been. But there’s no way we would’ve lost to GB with Romo. It’s no use in arguing can’t turn back time.

I’m not blaming Dak but I do blame Garrett for all of this. The thing that sickens me is you could’ve kept Romo and Dak no problem with no cap implications. Garrett is a sick man.

no, not really, but I am neutral on depending on 3-4 guys to carry the team, like Ware,Witten,Romo,Dez, etc. I can see the change pretty clear, Elliott and the O-line are the offense, and the defense has between second year players and draft addition improved. Hopefully Tapper or Gregory making a huge shock, an improvement in defense, some not much, but some. Defense in the future must become a top 3 defense, maybe a great draft next year it can be.

Father time caught up with Romo and Witten, wish they could of kept playing.

I love Dez, but he just can't overcome his emotions, it makes it hard to coach him and with his skills in decline I am glad they are turning the page and moving forward without him.

Not even 1%...not even .00001%

I just wish the timing was different and they could be in their primes playing with this young, up and coming group instead of the mostly bottom dwelling defenses and a few years of horrific o-line.

The LAST players I think of as laying down and giving up are Romo and Witten. They played through more adversity than 99% of these total couch GMs, remote control toting wannabee posters around here.
Punctured lungs, broken jaws, cracked rigs, herniated discs....

anyway...
It was not to be, so I pull for what we have. This young core group has promise on both sides of the ball

Fine, ill tell you, he gets hurt, he gets hurt again, he gets hurt yet again. It was not going to get better. Let me give you a huge tip, peoples bodies do not get younger. You coudlnt keep Romo, his time was up and he knew it, when it was his time he took it and thats waht you do, but when its your time you do whats right. Do not blame other people for people doing the right thing.

Garrett wasnt wrong and this wasnt just his choice. Romos body made a huge impact. Let it be.

He should have learned how to properly slide. That way we could have had proper closure so the romo lovers could be at peace.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I approve of every accomplishment your franchise made during that era. On the other hand, this Dak era may just out do them....
