We should have a good pass rush this year and just a really solid D-Line.

We should have a really good LB corps this year.

We should have a good secondary this year.

We brought in a aggressive coach for the secondary and have a bunch back there that was really coming on at the end of last year. Sounds like this guy is gonna let them play aggressive.

Good additions at LB and DE coming back. Improvement at DT? We should be stopping the run pretty well and pressuring the qb.

I believe barring injury that this will be the Defense we have needed for that last 4 years to make the SB push.

Now will our Offense keep up?

I am pumped guys and girls. This could be the year for real. Comes down to coaching, which scares me. Lol.

Injury would have to be the thief in the night. The offense and the defense are now set up to succeed. If they both put out at the same time, this Cowboys team should prove very difficult to defeat.

As to coaching, the scheme will be set, but prior to game time...this team should be well coached up.

If they answer the bell, and keep punching...I'm game.

Injury bug always hits. Let’s hope it’s not serious. If Lee stays healthy for the season I would be shocked. Major players stays healthy and we can take a punch and punch them back in the mouth then we are good.

glimmer---but we still do not have a good runs stopping crew..we got gashed in running game up the middle last year in 6 games...averaging 150 yds against our D....and what the NFC east has done for their running game is crazy...and still we choose to ignore good run stopping 1-techs?...just like we ignore shoring up our free safety position?...hope both of these change before season starts?

I think safety will be less of a concern than DT. We are loaded at DE. Crawford and Irvin can play DT. But I have the same exact concern for 1 tech and now Collins is hurt and I think Ash or Price has injury issues also. Will be interesting to see how we address this now with Collins injury. I am hearing Osbourne can play. And they will likely pick up another before camps.

Problem is having that 1 tech on first and second down. Short yardage package we use is ok.

Just out of curiosity was those 6 games the ones Lee was injured?

Honestly its hard to say. I don't think anyone can accurately access our defense until the end of the season.

Lee was out those games. We give up 80 or less on the ground when he plays. Jaylon, Thomas, Queiro can all play good run defense and with a free Leighton he can make plays as well. Richard built the legion of Doom and has said Woods is a starting free safety. Not to mention Jones can play there if needed. Collins will be ready for week 1 and we will have Irving to start the season.

We control the clock by running, teams will get behind and have to pass and with this defense we will make them to have mistakes.

Our offense will go as our O-line goes. The coaching doesn't scare me, I just wonder if SL can be more creative during the games. Some fans blame half time adjustments. You don't adjust at half time if things are working and you adjust in the first half if they aren't working. Adjustments should be made on the fly not at half time. I was concerned throughout training camp last year with the O-line tinkering. Our O-line coordinator paid the price for tinkering and he should have. I think our D will be ok. Top 10 defenses and offenses win games

We'll be just as "for real" as last year but no real good safety help DT is concerning, but not at crisis state, yet.

Too thin at LB and Safety for my liking. But we ought to be getting better given how young we are. If Vander Esch can play.

They should be pretty good at least. Have a chance to be great if Lee is healthy. The Denver game was the only one where teams had much success running against us when Lee was in the lineup - and that was an anomaly.

I think our D could be in the top 5, IF we can consistently stop the run on early downs and put teams in 3rd and long. We have playmaking LB’s, and I think, young playmaking DB’s vs the pass, and should have an excellent pass rush. I think letting McClain get away to Atlanta is a big mistake. We have 0 proven talent at 1 technique. Hopefully one of our DT’s will step up and become our much needed run stuffing 1 technique.
