News: Dallas Cowboys: Shoe comfort blamed for rash of foot injuries

If you buy off on reasons using such logic...find a mirror and just laugh.

Injury costs the team more than the player...(never mind, back to your playing in the street)

Try topic discussion instead of laughable cliché number 5,000...and no, the Cowboys, with top of profession medical personnel and facilities, aren't into games,

I used to play in the street when I was a kid, never got hit by a car and never broke a toe because of poorly fitting shoes.
The fact that shoes are contributing to injuries to a professional sports team is ridiculous. It's laughable that that should even be an issue.

Anyone who uses the shoe excuse for foot injures should be laughed out of the room.
chuckle....chuckle...........chuckle.

I suppose that support at a knee joint with braces was stupid concocted and lambrane...huh?

Weren't playing football in the street...huh? Try another line of ignoring cause and real effect. But try making it a joke on YOUR quarter...

This is my quarter, if your delicate senses are so easily offended, just put me on block and you can play on your own quarter. Problem solved.

Lemme guess...if the Cowboys finish, say, 8-8 in 2018, Garrett will then get a pass because of the shoes, right?

Saves a great memory for future viewing! Lol
Provides extra support and keeps your bones from spreading as much with the excess weight or pounding. Won't protect you much from a direct hit or getting stepped on, but it wont hurt either.
Thanks coach!

Anyone who listens to Joe Rogan’s podcast will know that he’s a big critic of today’s athletic footwear. His belief is that these shoes are basically casts for your feet and instead of helping, they’re actually weakening feet and doing more harm than good. I don’t know if he’s right, but it’s an interesting take.

SOOOOO, it's finally revealed why we haven't won a SB for so long.

Collins ranked second on the team with 5.0 sacks. In fact, as a rookie, he was one of the NFL’s fastest players from snap to sack according to Next Gen Stats.

...This rash of very specific foot injuries has to be a real concern for the team’s medical staff. And according to one longtime Cowboys insider, they believe the shoes are to blame.

“Trainers will be very cautious with [Maliek Collins’] rehab, meaning the projected starting defensive tackle’s return might not be until midway through camp, if that,” wrote Mickey Spagnola of DallasCowboys.com. “Why this sudden rash of fractured fifth metatarsals team wide? Answer was: Shoe comfort is taking precedence over suitable support.”

...Make no mistake. These types of injuries cost players valuable time and possibly millions of dollars. For the Dallas Cowboys, not having their best players on the field can cost the team in the standings. And, in turn, they can kill playoff berths and a title runs. Repeated injuries across the roster means both the team and the players need to step up, educate and implement the necessary changes to minimize any future issues.

There’s no question that better protection leads to fewer injuries. While some strong yet light materials represent a structural advantage, the drive to shed weight has resulted in some poorly supportive shoes. Some of the Under Armour products are examples of this, as there are some football cleats that can’t stay together through one season. Lighter isn’t necessarily better.

Also, have you had a professional fit you in a shoe recently? They’re almost extinct. I’d like to think that huge shoe contracts come with both expertise and liability, but it’s always just about the money.

Apples and oranges.

Only for an agenda...otherwise, a joint and protection. I suppose a body part now is made of different material depending upon where it's located. But what a realistic moment, one joint is much smaller and supports MORE weight and balancing.

Yep, you probably are onto something here...apples and oranges.
