Use of helmet rule is going to be a nightmare

More opinion based rules, that will have us sitting there waiting... did he lower the head, did he initiate contact, did he... did he... did he... Just like "was it a catch?"

This is going to turn into where the runner lowers his head, but the defender will end up standing straight up, trying to tackle the guy, because he doesn't want to be ejected or fined.

This is not going to work out very well... You can't retrain, nature... it is natural for people to lower their head, etc... when making contact. They want to rewrite human instincts in the NFL now?

This should be the year of the game changing kickoff TDs...

I don't know if it is a conspiracy rule... But, I am sure it is going to be an issue. I replied to some one else about it, and shortened it up below...

There is no way while running down the field on a kickoff, and making a tackle,you are going to be using correct perfect form all the time. How often are you going to be bending your knees and putting your facemask in the guys chest, and wrapping your arms. Just isn't possible all of the time...

If you are putting your head down to spear the guy that is one thing. But I didn't really take it as that, from the video. They made it basically sound like anytime your head is further ahead then your knees, you're in trouble, and getting looked at.

Hopefully the version of this the referees went through, was a lot more thorough then what we saw.

Surprisingly, it applies to offensive players also.

That's where it is going to cause the most issues.

Don't leave yet, it might get interesting - or at least comical - when the only legal way to tackle someone is butt-first like how Mark Sanchez's O-lineman tackled him during the butt fumble.

Seems like one of those deals where they'll keep tweaking the application of it and, just as refs get a feel for what they're expected to do, it will change again.
