You certainly can speculate on how much an impact having a QB like Marino had on their careers. It’s not at all difficult to do...and it’s not a stretch to say Marino probably meant more to their careers than the other way around. It would actually be silly to think otherwise.

No, it's absolutely nothing but pure speculation on your part. Does a QB make the receiver or the receivers make the QB? Does an Oline make the RB or does the RB make the Oline? It's an argument that doesn't have a definite answer. People like you never admit when they're wrong. It's just the way it is. You believes whatever makes you feel good.

Very much like Aikman was carried by Emmitt I would say. Not a bad comparison. I dont recall Aikman every being in MVP conversations or winning rookie of the year his first year.

Yes they both help each other...everyone knows that. But that isn’t the same thing as saying everything was equal. Common sense tells you Marino had more to do with the team’s success. I think they were both rookies when Marino was...or at least one of them was and the other a very young player. He would’ve done the same to any other receivers there.

I agree with some of what you said but Clayton and Duper were pretty much house hold names. Duper had 3 pro bowl seasons and 2 all pro seasons and Clayton had 5 pro bowl seasons and 3 all pro seasons.

The entire point I had been making to another poster was that Marino had a very talented team from the beginning of his career. I’ve never said one way or another who the best player on those Miami teams was. I don’t know how you interjected that issue into the conversation.

The topic got steered off its path...that I agree with. My only point in this thread was it’s pointless to compare Dak’s rookie season with Marino’s. Over 30 years separate them...and a whole lot of changes in the game. I’m sorry, but comparing Dak’s passing ability as a rookie to Dan Marino’s is asinine...I’ll just leave it there.

I compared Dak and Marino's rookie seasons, not their talent or careers (that story has yet to be fully written). There are definite comparisons. They had the two best statistical rookie QB seasons in NFL history. That's a fact regardless how you try to spin it.
