would it not be nice if our coach staff is competent?
if cowboys coaches say rico is not good enough, i want to be able to believe them.
instead i am left wondering if it is the make the player fit the scheme again.
just like why bjones was forced to play a position that he was not the best in.

Well Starship has a hit song in the 80's WE Built This CIty on Rock and Roll and the Cowboys of the 90's were built on Jimmy Johnson. He took the worst team in the league(Dallas picked first that year) and turned Dallas into a team within 5 years that went on to win 3 Super Bowls. Dallas needs a coach like Jimmy Johnson.

My wish is to have Kris Richard elevated to HC by years end or next year...keeping his defensive duties of course. This would mean firing Marinelli and promoting Richard to the D-coord. as well. He can do it..he's young.

most teams have a specialist at offense or defense at the head coach.
we got garrett, who only expertise is he brings the 1990's offense playbook with him.

I absolutely hate empty backfield sets w/ a passion. It's anything but QB friendly. The opposing DL doesn't have to worry about contain, they can just pin their ears back and go.

They've been not only discussing, they've been running that empty backfield crapp a lot. It's cost us several games.

They go empty backfield way to often and it's part of the problem. Leave Zeke in the backfield if you want the offense to be Dak friendly. Forces a safety down instead of telling the D exactly what you're doing. It's moronic. Another Garrett staple that's been killing this team. It's not so much that they run EBF, but where, when and how often. Ridiculous with this line and RB. Sure, once in awhile, but at this point with a young signal caller, it's far from QB friendly. Puts all the pressure on the QB. Garrett's no stranger to that.

Cooper and Green were fine at OG. Fred and LC started the year slow and Tyron played hurt all last year. Those were the issues.

And he helped Green right from the start. They slid protection his way right from the start. Cooper was set to take away any isnide move from the DE. Fred was isoed. Then they started chipping with backs. When Bell came in they put a TE over there and all the above.

As for personnel groupings what exactly were those that were "weird?" What plays were called that were as such?

Go back and watch the Atlanta game...amongst others...ie Seattle. I'm not in the minority on these things. Many agree with me. many articles have said rico is the best receiving te have quoted what coaches said.
garrett said rico needed more time - he got none last year after he recovered.
rico said that also - and in the same article - he said run blocking is not his strong suit.

Fred beard was just fine. Not sure what you saw. Collins,I agree..he did start slow. IMO..he never did settle in at RT.That may be why we signed Fleming...some insurance.

jimmy johnson would have fixed the clock management problem the first time it happened.
it is now years for garrett

I saw Fred miss blocks and anchor poorly in the first couple of games. He rounded into form by game 4.

At first i thought it was just Harrison but it then continued for a couple more weeks. You don't remember the OL struggling against the Broncos?

dlaw came out of nowhere to become a war daddy to make the 4-3 work.
if dlaw regresses this year, it is still easier to get a passrushing lb than a de.

marinelli forces players to the his scheme instead of adjusting his scheme to the player.
he has man-crushes on try-hard types and whatever you call golden cock types.
the first thing richard did was move bjones when he got here.

I sure do. That Bronco game was horrid in everyway. The defense actually kept us in it at first..but our oline let us down.Dak had no time. No sure it was Fred Beards fault...MAYBE he didn't have his best game,but it could be a case where the other team just outplayed us up front. But I do agree..that game stank. That was our mulligan.
