I expect another downyear for this team so atleast I have Randy's redemption story to root for along with Jaylon's continued recovery.

If they do that without him proving himself, then they are setting themselves up for further disappointment. Just saying.
Nah, dude. It isn't always so black and white.

We invested too much into him to dismiss him if he is off in camp, not to mention all the time he missed.

The same folks that want to pump up Jaylon and dismiss his woeful 2017-18, I say consider your post and my reply, AND RGREGORY

As Cowboys fans, I believe we should all mentally project happy thoughts at him, as a type of telepathic support system.

Shoot. The potential has always been inside Gregory. I am willing to try practically anything to keep him on the field so he can let it out. When I say try practically anything, I mean legally anything outside of Colorado, Oregon, California...

Jaylon Smith managed to stay on the field for 16 games last season. Yes, he didn't play well, but he suited up, competed, and did everything that the team asked of him. Nowhere have I said that they should count on him for anything more than what he did a season ago, but I wouldn't bet against him proving me wrong because of his attitude and work ethic.

Randy Gregory has managed to play 14 games across two seasons as a Cowboy. During that time, he wasn't productive, got injured and proved to be completely unreliable. I was against drafting him to begin with, and my thoughts have not changed. I don't think that he will ever be reliable enough to count on. I hope he proves me wrong, but I'm not expecting him to.

They are in no way close to be similar in terms of how to view them.
