He is his daddy. Fans here have faith and hope, and bless their hearts for it. But if Stephen doesn't go Mark Davis, and instead goes Jerry Jones v2.0, we are doomed for another 20+ years, barring catching lightening in a bottle. A la those fledgling franchises in so and so sport that happen to win once in a decade or two. Instead of sustained greatness, that the resources and acclaim that heralding this franchise would bring to whomever GM.

We'd have our pick of the litter. We'd have our Theo Epstein, Brian Cashman, Belichick, Newsom, etc etc etc if these nepotist money grubbers wanted to win
There is no reason in the world we shouldn't be perennial playoff contenders. We should be like the Patriots. That's what we used to be like.

The Mental Midget is back!! People scoffed at me for saying this but it's been true for years. Stephen said nothing to the fact, and called Dez a great player. He also said the same thing about Witt being in his ear.

Time waits for no man Dez. You're old now in football years. Get over it.

Lol....wake up from your Stephen dream, he's put Dez and Witten on blast when describing Dak's problems last year. He said they put too much pressure on him, he probably only said great to not upset Witten and hide his real message.

Dez was a big play TD scoring machine and like many others he got Garretted.

Line him up in the same spot and run him off into coverage.

He never really got used to his strengths here. Neither did Owens while he was here.
Wait, so he was a big play TD scoring machine but got Garretted in the same system that he was a big play TD scoring machine in?

Look, I understand the desire to cling to the remote truth about the offense being limited, but to pretend he was held back by the same offense he was explosive in just does not make a single bit of sense.

If anything... They went to the passing game too much. Many times in the red zone after the run got them down there... Talking. Pre Zeke.

I remember Murray killing it only for them to throw the ball and miss to settle for a field goal and Murray on the sideline screaming whhhhyyyy

Maybe Jerry & Stephen need to focus more on play calling/game planning issues instead of standing for the anthem. Priorities man - just saying.

You Dez haters are funny as all hell.. So its ok to throw shots at Dez and throw him under the bus. But AS SOON as he replies its a problem and Dez should "let it go" or "stop whining"

Yall are failing to realize that hes not the initiator.. hes just defending himself like most people would.

i got to say this route running talk is hilarious. It’s why you have coaches! If Dez isn’t running routes in year 7, there’s a fundamental problem in the organization from year 1.

Cole Beasley also said no one coached route running in previous seasons. Yet, everyone is ignoring this tidbit and flaming crazy has-been Dez (which he may well be, but one truth does not preclude the other).

No his QB play was absurdly horrible or ok.

Even when Owens was balling it was because of his talent and not the scheme.

Owens is the best YAC WR to ever play this game and Garrett thought it was a good idea to never use him that way.

Dez could’ve been a great run and catch guy but everything was downfield like it was with Owens.

Dez deserves some blame for last year. Those drops are on him. But Garrett never put him in a position to succeed even when he was succeeding.

I don't know about that. If an individual is successful doing something, it's a hard sell to get them to change what their doing. Dez was highly successful because of Tony so their was not impetus for Dez to change. And from the Organization's standpoint, why try to fix something that's working? The problem is it all went south when Tony went down. At that point, the old adage "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" comes to mind.

Romo was great, but when it came down to it
he wanted the ball
think it was one of the first games he was commentating last year where he said 'i always wanted the ball. sorry running back'
