News: Conflicting information about new helmet rule irks players

This is going to be a disaster this season. We're going to see running backs put their head down to power through a third and 1 and draw a 15-yard penalty. We're going to see normal, text book tackles result in 15-yard penalties. It's going to stop drives, extend drives, and change games.

Roquan Smith is holding out until they exempt suspensions coming from the new lowering the head rule from affecting his guaranteed money.

Until we see how it's going to be enforced, that's a smart move.

Surely the commissioner and everyone involved with this rule aren't that ********....as soon as the ball carrier lowers his head, for whatever reason, if the defender makes contact helmet to helmet it's a penalty/fine/ejection. I've seen penalties
for would be clean tackes to the chest but because the ball carrier end up falling prior at a split second they would call helmet to helmet.

Rules like this without clarification just show how stupid people are.

Sooooo.......every player will have to be standing in upright position? I can't believe that whoever comes up with these kind of ideas actually get paid to do it.....NFL as we knew it is going away.

This rule may very well cause me to stop watching professional football altogether. So sick and tired of seeing games decided by officials and not the players.

with how the catch rule was officiated I think this helmet rule will make the results of the games easy to change so they get the results that they want when they want them the nfl is really a shell of what it used to be its kinda hard to watch any more with out lots wondering just how fixed the results really are
