Regardless of anyone's personal feeling towards TO, this was an entertaining article with a lot of truth.

The rules are straight forward. Induction is based on on-field performance only.

The writer kind of lost me when he correctly used Ray Lewis and Randy Moss' 1st ballot inclusions as examples of why Owens should also have gotten in on 1st ballot....but then cancelled it somewhat when he threw the race card in there for some strange reason....as if race was maybe part of the reason he didn't.
That was a head scratcher given the two examples he used, and it detracted from the overall argument.

Good stuff though.
 
I wonder what he’ll end up doing with himself after all this.

His playing days are over and I understand he didn’t do a very good job of saving money...

He is capturing everything via videography and who know what that will lead to... I wouldn't be surprised if he got another show on some network.

The irony of this quote considering the Hall of Fame is the epitome of every athlete wanting to "cling to some sort of fame" beyond their playing time.

Nothing speaks flashy and ego centric like an untelevised ceremony, with friends,family and hometown people that knew you best before you were famous and making sure to give thanks to your mother and granny.

TO really is diabolical when you think about it.

IMO, he did it the way someone who was the best player at his best position(top 2 at least) during his era and had to wait to get into the HOF after failing twice. We all knew it was a joke. He had some problems with some organizations. If those organization want to penalize him than fair enough....but the voters shouldn't have been in any position to do that.

EXACTLY lol. The whole process is about clinging on to fame and getting one last hoorah on your way out.......and TO did it the complete opposite. Because he could've easily came in and made it about him during his speech and gave all the media quotables. His whole presentation was selfless. At least in the video posted on here.....he thanked everyone and didn't mention himself.

IN order to understand TO...you have to know his story. Its out there.
