It’s the final week of action from Oxnard, California for our Cowboys. Sunday’s practice featured a lot of 11-on-11 action and much of it featured the starters as they round into shape for the season open in 28 days. Let’s check out the highlights.

The big news of course was the return of Randy Gregory to team action on the field. Here we see him teaming with Tyron Crawford on a 2-man stunt. Crawford occupied two blockers in textbook fashion. Had this been tackle football it likely would have been a sack or pressure for Gregory.

Those deep balls were money. Daks always been strong at dropping it in on Go routes, and if the receiver has a step it's nearly impossible to defend. Unless the safety is playing that side specifically and near the hash its difficult for them to play over the top.

I think its a positive that they're stressing this more and Lal seems to be on the same page with WRs running through just full speed. Reps reps reps. Thats how you play to your strengths

I completely agree. I think they've heard the talk - and maybe there was even some truth to it - but they're certainly doing what they need to in order to have their deep ball passing game working. And that's definitely an aspect that this team and this passing game s going to be able to do in order to be a complete offense.

It's great to see and hear such positive reports.

Kony Ealy has been a disappointment from day one of camp and it continued Sunday with Kadeem Edwards beating him three consecutive times in one-on-ones. Getting beat by an offensive lineman who might not make the team doesn’t bode well for Ealy.

Ealy is the truly big disappointment of training camp. It just seems like this guy doesn't care. He's gone from a lock to make the roster to virtually certain not to, while I think Edwards has done just the opposite.

Between the good reports on him, and what I felt was a good showing in that first preseason game, I think he's given himself an excellent chance to make this team. And that's been doubled by what's likely a season-ending injury to Marcus Martin, who didn't look good at all anyway.

I think Kadeem Edwards is this team's 8th offensive lineman as of today.

What!, There seemed to be a lot deep balls from Dak Prescott as he repeatedly hit receivers downfield. Interestingly, none of the balls were back shoulder fades and all saw the receiver running through the route, as taught by new receivers’ coach Sanjay Lal. Here we see Dak to Terrance Williams, who was the recipient on a number of Dak targets.
Dak having changed his throwing motion during the offseason is working wonders for him. Dak is on fire!
