Hope this isn't a lingering issue.....they seem to have cast a wide net with B

Cole Beasley - WR - Cowboys
Cole Beasley (groin) will not play in the Cowboys' second preseason game.

He also missed Dallas' preseason opener. Beasley has battled soft-tissue injuries for an extended period, also dealing with hamstring problems since November of 2016. Beasley has topped 50 yards just once over his last 21 games.

Good thing we have some options behind him for slot play. Hurns is proven there and Austin has the ability to thrive there

Even better that it's only preseason and the team is being extra cautious. I'm more worried about Deonte Thompson. He was supposed to bring a deep threat and the guy can't get on the field. If he doesn't get back soon, or if this looks like a lingering issue, I don't think he makes the team.

Oh I agree.......just that it appears they're trying to make Beasley Dak's #1 target ( Dak even admitted it )

As of today, Thompson would not make my 53.......

Two years in a row with a groin in pre season. I think it was groin last year in pre-season. I wondered all last year if the groin was affecting his play. He's a flea among big dogs for sure. I have the same concerns with Austin, small. There just aren't that many Eddelmans in the NFL. I'd say Amendolas too but he has missed some serious time with injuries. Hope Bease can hit his 2016 stride

lol, hot take alert!

6 years in the league. 20 TDs. 250 catches. 2600 yards. That’s over 6 seasons. That’s about half of Doug Baldwin’s production. Travis Benjamin has over 100 more catches. Marvin Jones drafted the same year has more yards, more TDs. Rishard Matthews drafted in round 7 has way better numbers. Cole does have better numbers than Rod Streater though. That I will agree with.

Beasley is a prime example of a player that benefits from fan bias.

Look at the numbers. He’s ok. Very, very replaceable. IMO Hurns and Austin are better choices in the slot.

I hear you.
But soft tissue injuries have nothing to do with his smaller size
Totally unrelated

I think many here see him as the closest thing to a NE slot WR the team has. Biggest difference the NE slot receivers go all over the field.

Doug Baldwin is just the best slot receiver in the league, seems like a fair comparison.

Last year, which was certainly a bad year for Cole but also a bad year for all our pass catchers, Doug Baldwin was targeted 116 times to Cole's 63.
