If you ask me I'd say the offense has done pretty well

I like the fact that Dak has moved the ball quit well without Zeke, no more dez, and no more witten. I see some fans not satisfied despite those facts.

When you look at the other talent missing every week it should give us even more hope that when these guys come back this offense will be even better.

The first week Dak drove the offense to a score without Hurns. The second week Dak drove the offense to a score without Austin, minus Zeke and no other safety net while running for his life.

Imagine when Hurns, Austin, and good Pal Zeke returns. I believe this offense will be top 5.

Some may say its preseason but Dak has shown in the past to struggle without a crutch and these last two week he has went in without one and has done really well.

I am looking at what Dak is doing without rather than with, and what he will do WITH come week 1.

It's Pre-season folks.. it means nothing.

No need to get down, but equally no reason to be elated. Defenses will play our offense completly differently during the season.

Questions will be answered in 3 weeks.

His athleticism helps him escape stuff. The air balls still scare me. Anything he threw over 20 yards was off. Hopefully, that crossing route in the endzone that was 25ft over the receivers head was a throwaway.

I still dont think that this offense can function properly without Zeke in there. Sure Dak as handled things well, but no one is game planning to stop our offense and these teams arent playing their full starters against us. This is the big part of the offense that is still very scary for me. Our backup RB situation is still suspect in my opinion. If you are going to base your entire team around the running game, then you better have two #1 backs on your team. We dont.

I with you. I think we will be fine offensively. We are a smash mouth team and will pound the ball. Let Dak manage the game. I think we will be better than most think. I cant wait for the season to start!

Obviously, it's the preseason and defenses and offenses are not going to show their cards yet, but you can't deny that it's encouraging to see Dak sustain long drives, with two finishing with touchdowns.

This was a unit that could not get anything done once they were hit with adversity a season ago. Jacksonville showed us last season that you can advance in the playoffs without a prolific offense. All we have to do is stay ahead of the chains, win the time of possession battle, and make sure that we score touchdowns instead of kick field goals.

they seem solid but then you watch other teams like GB out up 48 points and throwing the ball all over the yard for 40pplus yards over and over with guys you never heard of and it makes you wonder how bad our scheme really is being content with under 17 game after game without a shut down defense..

does anyone watch the preseason for other teams and especially GB last night and go where the F did they find these guys that Komara(sp) kid looks like the 2nd coming of Jordy Nelson..how Pitt finds guys like JUJ and James Washington to go along with AB? Im a little jealous..i realize its PS but thats my point when vanilla schemes are being played and we still get score more than 10 points? GB putting up 48 in in 3 quarters?

I agree with you. The offense hasn't had Elliott (by design) and Beasley (due to injury) for both of their preseason contests. But they've gone out, moved the ball and outscored both opponents by a wide margin.

And this past game they also didn't have their Pro Bowl center and as you said, Tavon Austin. And I believe that they still scored 10 points in three possessions.

It's preseason relax not only that but we are a run first team and Zeke hasn't even played. We aren't throwing the ball 40 times a game, most likely almost half of that.

Funny you talk about defenses not game planning for the offense when all I witness last week was fans complaining about how vanilla and lack of offensive creativity the offense was last week.

Preseason is not always the excuse every single time. I just mentioned in that main post how fans fail to see the clues, big picture, and the with, without, and will haves.

That vanilla sure had some nice wheels to it last week!

sure we are fine if you are looking at this in a Myopic fish eye view..

expectations are we will be the ,same as last year, and yes we are a run first team without zeke ,so far IN ps but im saying if you look around and see the ball and the points being thrown around the league you wonder about our talent level and non ability to find or unitize our own..you can be arun heavy team but you have to still be able to throw and get chunk lays to keep the defense honest..we better hope we play better with Zeke, Austin, Beasly, Hurns and the starting online all together..im not panicking but I still see these gems on other teams making huge plays and say where is that here?

Well as a fantasy football nut I can tell you now that players like komara and scantling for GB were already kind of on the radar even without Rodgers with just Hudley throwing to them. And will be picked up if cut. I'd take atleast one on the cowboys.

And juju smith schuster will be the Steelers number two guy. Washington should find his way up the charts the next couple of years when Pitt drops the dead weight at the position.

The offense has been awful. It's a dumb thing to say, even for a space cadet like soup can.

The yards per attempt passing for the first two games has been 6.7 and 5.0... the yards per attempt rushing for the first two games has been 3.6 and 3.9. I know Zeke can do better than that in his sleep but the passing game has been as anemic as predicted. Over the last two years they have been dead last in 20 yard passing plays and they have resumed where they left off.

Im cant comment on what other fans said about last week. I am just relaying my concerns for the offense. Which would have been the same concern last year and the year before. At this time the offense is too reliant on Zeke. The good news is that the kid is NOT injury prone and a pretty tough kid. However, I would like to see a more dynamic backup. I dont think the passing game is ready to carry the team should Zeke go down. Probably a year or so away from that depending on who we bring in at TE and WR next season.

However, the defense does seem poised to be improved. How much is yet to be determined.

I still wonder about oline though. First its looked one way. Now it looks the other.
