WTH is wrong with you? Im not even a fan of the Cowboys, but wanting to take his money because he has a medical issue is just wrong..

Oh man, the mods are going to have to step in because people are losing their minds here.

Poster didn’t say anything about taking the guy’s money. He said getting the cap space back.

You people are ridiculous. We’re all supposed to stop talking football now? How long is the moratorium so I know? 24 hours?

Stop with the self righteousness please!

I'm sure Jerry will pay it. My questions are can they put him on NFI still? Do the cowboys get the cap space back if they do? And now I didn't even think about it until a couple posts ago does Fred lose all his money if put on NFI? Can he be placed on IR fir a non football related injury? If they cant put him on IR what other options do they have besides NFI?

Good question.
I would think he could go on NFI, if not then for sure IR. Either way I beleove the return time is the same, 6 weeks then practice for 2 weeks, then make a decision to activate or not.

If I’m IR, I beleove he gets paid, unless there is an negotiated pay while on either one. Say half their normal pay for a game.

No need to panic until we see how Travis responds to treatment.

You are kidding right? He is going to be out until that is under control. No timetable is right. I'd be completely shocked if he plays this year with this type diagnosis.

No need to panic until we see how Travis responds to treatment.
It is not about "panic".

It is a serious condition that he needs to be given the respect to deal with on his timetable and that of his treatment providers.

The team (and fans) need to move on and admit he is done for the immediate future. It is no different than if the player were diagnosed with cancer.

What then? No need to panic until we see how he responds to chemo?

I was laughing at the idiotic thread, but watch the practice reports.

They might just do that.

Why do you think the thread is idiotic? This is a pretty serious diagnosis in all seriousness. I am not sure he'll play for awhile and I don't blame him if he decides to take time off.

It’s a safe bet the OL has peaked. Leary is gone. Fredrick and Tyron may have a few good years left before Dallas has to eat lots of dead money.

Lee is old. Lawrence may be gone next year.

Jaylon looks good and Zeke is a stud. It isn’t enough

All valid points

Below is from Mayo clinic. Seems they caught it early so I would hope it's on the shorter side. Outside chance he plays this season, but most importantly he needs to take care of himself. Joe Looney likely starts, I would also see if Williams may be an option at center. Cowboys likely to hunt the waiver wire or trade for a backup with some experience.

Although some people can take months and even years to recover, most people with Guillain-Barre syndrome experience this general timeline:

  • After the first signs and symptoms, the condition tends to progressively worsen for about two weeks
  • Symptoms reach a plateau within four weeks
  • Recovery begins, usually lasting six to 12 months, though for some people it could take as long as three years

It's not my money. Will they put him on NFI? Can they put him on NFI? Does it take his money by putting him on NFI?
No... it's not your money. It's Frederick's money.
Which you give no shills about.

I was actually referring to Jerry's money. But yes I don't care about either one of there money. I'm curious about what the options are for the Cowboys
