This is what a real GM for a contender looks like.

Got Iloka and center depth because the team needed it.

Not just sitting around talking about how they always look for ways to improve the team and doing exactly zero.

We signed Looney to backup at C and G. He's an average player - look around the league though. You simply don't have great OL as backups anywhere

There are a few teams that have decent depth, you just have to look rather than assume the OL depth problem is at all 31 other teams.

Denver, New England and Chicago all have logjams with interior depth players. The key is not to wait to have to compete with everyone else looking for the same thing.

Looks like the Vikings get it. We just talk about doing something.

I'm hope for IR, with a possible later season return (if the team is in the hunt).

If the go IR with Fred, that means the news is bad, and I bet he doesn't return this year.

If there is any chance he can play before he'd be eligible to return from IR, they'll keep him on the roster. And should.

But GBS is unpredictable.

He could be clear in a month. Or eight weeks. Or a year. Or never.

You can't play that kind of waiting game.

We have done that before in the past. Waited on Woodson. Waited on Novacek. Waiting on Haley. Waited on Terry Glenn. Waited on Romo.

The whole idea here is you have decisive leadership that makes the tough decisions.

Putting him on IR does not eliminate him. It just makes it so you can actually plan and be proactive.

The Vikes also have some sense of when their missing players will be back. They also don't have every team thinking they've got them over a barrel.

Congrats though on your premature evaluation. OMG! Somebody made a trade! Why can't we ever make trades?!?!

I bet if they sit around and do nothing, you won't say a peep. And are you that myopic to think that the rest of the league does not know the Vikings dont have depth issues? LOL

There has to be a buyer and a seller.

Dallas is usually the finicky customer who is just "browsing".

Gonna be 100s of interior lineman looking for jobs next weekend.

If you honestly think the Giants would have made this trade without asking substantially more then you are clearly the myopic one

The Giants were a team unloading his second round tender salary. The Vikings were willing to take on the burden.

Please try to talk about things you know. It is a much smarter look for you.

Please try to stop passing yourself off as a fan of this team. You clearly root for their failure and criticize every move or non-move reflexively.

Ooooh.

The "fake fan!" approach when you don't like what is being said.

Man, you are quite the unique thinker. Never seen that kind of ridiculous nonsense before.

None of your fellow Eagle fans ever say dumb things?

That's shocking.

Actually, you can wait. Being "decisive" by limiting your options to return Frederick earlier is not impressive management to me.
